I just played 4th Edition D&D today. It was challenging, in the way switching from PC to Mac is challenging. Trying to find out what level powers I get because I couldn't find a table and was joining a 5th level campaign... I get one power from each power column up to 5th level, plus some extra 1st level ones. No hoops to go through. O_O
And then we were talked our way out of a fight with a wizard, fought our old employer, fought a minotaur, and fought a giant horde of zombies that explode into ice fire when killed. And I found out that my 1/day 5th level power of healing/radiant damage circle was comparably powerful as using up several 3rd level spells in 1 fight in earlier editions.
