I saw it on the porch,
It was the worse color of my life.
I’m sorry in advance
Because I lied to you.
You asked me if I had seen it,
I said ‘ask the girl next door.’
You asked if I did anything to it,
I said ‘Why would I do that for?’
As you walked away one day
I said sorry again under my breath.
I hid the ashes in the garden,
Next to the purple fence.
I’m sorry I burned the flag
It was an accident no offence.
‘It’s old and ugly anyways.’
You’d always say.
So why do you care about it?
