She’s mellow in the meadow,
She lays on the grass looking at the beautiful turquoise sky.
Dreaming with the clouds reflection in her eyes.
With a mint colored house behind her,
that was earned though the blood, sweat, and tears.
She’s holding the hand of another,
Laughing about the funny jokes he whispers in her ear.
The memories float like robin feathers in a dirty pond.
The books burn in her mind as not ‘good’ enough,
The passion she has melts away with criticism,
The work ethic that she has seems like nothing to the masses.
She perseveres,
She tries with all the strength in her heart,
but depression and anxiety creeps like ink tracks under her feet
and shadows leaning on her shoulders.
She cries there in the open grass,
thinking of her parents who are no longer with her.
Their love flows through her blood stream to keep going.
It’s for them her talents bloom,
and the books grow part of so many who read them.
She’s holding the hand of another
with a ring of diamond and gold.
Smiling at the one she always wanted to hold.
She’s floating like a robin in an acting studio of her dreams
And smiles at all the things that she has achieved.
