We all have them.
No matter how much we might think they're wrong,
Or laugh at or make fun of a person "labeled."
We give them,
And have them.
A disease,
A disease of the mind
A wretched disease
That mutilates the body slowly
That we can't see the damage until its too late.
But the "labeled" feel the pain daily.
Their thoughts dwelling on the words
"fat" "ugly" "short" and so on
Focusing their energy on the cancer that you put there
While you laugh.
You laugh because you said it as a joke,
But you weren't the one "labeled" just then.
You jest at scars that felt no wounds
As Shakespear says, or something like that.
You don't know the pain you caused.
You're too busy laughing.
Then,
As if it couldn't get any worse for the "labeled",
You spread your "jokes" to others,
Getting them to feed the cancer.
A circle of people
Standing over the "labeled"
Pointing and laughing
With dead eyes.
They're just happy they're not the ones
Being laughed at.
So anyways,
I'm writing to get it over with.
Here to give you my label
In hopes that you'll laugh
And get that sick laughter out of your system quickly.
I don't really care anymore.
Go ahead and laugh,
You'll be helping me.
I sorting out my true friends,
From those who aren't.
I am a Christian.
I don't know what you've heard
Or how YOU'VE labeled Christianity,
But I'm willing to prove you wrong,
But that's for another time.
So, now what?
