In Child Developement we are studying children ages 3-6. And so for this course we had to design two craft projects for our field trip to the Averill Park preschool.
So our class came up with neon colored noodle necklaces, which were shaped like flowers for the spring vibe.
Then we also came up with snow globes for the spring season where we placed fake flowers in there and we filled them with water and and at the preschool the kids would fill the jar with sequins and such. Then we closed the jar tight and then they would put lady bug stickers on the outside.
I wasn't look forward to this trip because I really don't like kids to much. Probably because of bad experience with them or the last time I had to babysit.
Which I'll go into succinct details about.
When I use to do grooming my boss lady Tanya had a daughter who she forewarned to me was a brat. And her warning was confirmed because soon grooming was replaced with babysitting which I didn't like the idea in the first place. One because I wanted to just groom and I hated answering the phone knowing its her hoping to do grooming and soon figure out she's asking me to babysit her (brat) kid. Two because she really was a brat in everyway. She would jump on my back, bite me, act spoiled, tell me she expected me to make her dinner (which I flipped out at her about), and she just was obnoxious in general. Even my younger brother who was sort of friends with her and I say friends loosely because he didn't like her either.
Wow that wasn't as succinct as I wanted it to be.
Anyway so we went to the preschool and I must say it was a bit odd. I didn't think any of the kids would really like me.
First we were introduced to a class of three year olds and I instantly made a friend her name was Ashley and we played and I helped her wash dishes and food which was toys not the real thing. And then she wanted me to help her with her noodle necklace project. She was really cute and I was helping another boy sitting next to me and she was like no you gotta help me in the most sweetest voice yet with a three year old sort of selfish attitude which was just surprisingly kind of cute.
Then when the four year old class switched to do the other projects the four year old class came over. And I made a new friend there. His name was Nick and he asked in a shy cute little boy voice if he could sit next to me and I was like of course and I smiled. He was adorable. And I noticed that four year olds are perfectionist when it comes to projects they have to have their necklaces absolutly perfect and if they didn't get it right then they had to start over. Where as the three year old class didn't care much they were more concerned with the process not the outcome.
Then I played Thomas the train with Nick and met another kid who was sort of shy but looked eager to play just kind of nervous to ask so he joined in the fun. And my friends sitting at the table with no little kids I had to sneak them into the play area because no little kids approached them so I kinda asked Nick if he would allow for my friends to play with us. He said yes!!! And then this one girl Lily came over and randomly sat on my lap and hugged me!
At the end I didn't want to leave and I made more friends when we had sit on the carpet time. Her name was Alex and she sat on my lap. Then this shy girl who warmed up to me her name was Jessie. And then this other kid who I didn't catch his name.
And I got the most hugs out of my whole class which also shocked me. And from kids I didn't even really talk to because they were to occupied with other kids in my class they were cute!
