About first part of your entry, reception thingy: Maybe it's just the fact they run out of doves and confetti - after all, it's not first your 'forever away'. Also, let's face it, many Gaians stay in rather loose acquaintanceship, others add each other to friendlist but don't have that much contact at all or disappear as well - probably one or two people are away now and couldn't greet you, some are swallowed by RL matters and.. harsh but true, may have not even notice you're not around anymore. Care about those who did notice.
