Maybe I overreacted.

This evening, my mum asked me to go down to the supermarket and get her a soda. She was in one of her writing moods, and she gets odd cravings. So, I grabbed my backpack (I didn't feel like just carrying the can back xp ) and my dog, and headed outside.
It was really cold and foggy, and water was condensing on my hair and shirt. It was also really dark outside (cuz its winter, DUH).
When I got down to Safeway, I tied up Pip (my dog) to a bench, and started towards the store entrance. Then, this really cute guy (in that shaggy, unkempt sort of cute) came up to me and said "Hey, do you have a quarter I can borrow?"
Being on gaurd, I said "Sure." and forked over the quarter I had planned to use for MY soda. Damn. Why didn't I just say no?
I sort of backed away and pretended to be digging in my backpack for a dog treat, to give him time to leave so I could see which direction he was going. (So I could avoid him.) But he didn't leave. He just sort of stood there.
"So, whats your name?" He said, as if it was absolutely normal to be conversing with strangers on a foggy and cold night in almost complete darkness.
I just looked at him, smiled a very fake smile, and made as if I was going inside the store. He moved, and blocked my path.
By this time, I was absolutely on the pinpoint of becoming panicked. I had sensed a little danger from him when he had first adressed me, but if he grabbed me now, I wouldn't have anywhere to run. He was out of the range of Pip's bite (Pip was growling now...even HE sensed this guy was bad news) and no one was around. No one would even see the struggle, if he tried to force me to go with him.
I smelled smoke on his breath.
"I'm Ru."
Damn! Why didn't I tell him a false name??
He stepped closer to me, and every animal instinct in my body was screaming to get away from this guy, he's trouble, but for some retarded reason, I didn't move.
"Do I scare you? You don't look scared." He said.
Thank God for my emotionless face. Up until this moment I had always cursed it.
"'Cause I don't mean to be scary. I just thought you were pretty, and I wanted to chat it up with you." He continued.
Chat it up, is it? Chat it up in the middle of the foggy damn night?
Sizing up my chances, I realized he really couldn't be older than 18. I could probably take him, if I had the drop. No beard, his hair was obviously washed recently. So maybe he honestly thought I was pretty.
"I'm just afraid you'll steal my dog." I said, fabricating an excuse to show him I really didn't like talking to him.
"This pretty pup? Me? Kidnap him?"
I flinched at the word 'kidnap'.
When I didn't answer immeadeately, he said,"What breed is he?"
"I dunno." I said in a tone much harsher than I intended.
"Ok, ok, ok, I can see I'm makin' you uncomfortable." And he just walked off into the mist. Literally.
I pat Pip on the head, and rush up to the store. I hesitate, but don't go inside because I really don't want him to come back and steal Pip. (I'm paranoid, I know.) So I just buy a couple of ginger ales for my mum from the vending machine, and race back down to Pip.
I untie him, and hug him a couple times, and then make for the busy street. I figured that maybe if I kept to a brighter lit area, maybe I could calm down.
Halfway down the block, the guy steps out of the mists again. (DAMN!!)
"Hey, pretty girl."
This guy has some problems. That is the number one way to creep someone out.
Pip's hackles instantly go up, but the guy steps closer to me anyway.
He takes a huge step towards me, and Pip lunges for the guy, snapping and snarling. I let go of the leash (GODAMN, WHY!?) but the guy just PUNCHES my poor beautiful dog, and Pip leaps away, whining.
Then the guy grabs my wrist. I don't know what made me do it, but I bit down HARD on his hand. All he did was laugh.
"I like it rough, baby." He said, half laughing.
Pip was up and growling again, circling, while I struggled with his grip. Suddenly, he jerked me forwards and tried to kiss me.
I kneed him in the balls.
He gasped, and swore at me a ton.
I took off and sprinted a whole block and a half with Pip galloping along beside me. He followed me for another 3 blocks after that. I managed to lose him along the Mason Middle School Stretch.
I'm still freaked from it, and one things for sure.
I'm totally not telling my mum.
