Random Rating: Krod Mandoon
I am here with another installment of the Random Ratings segment in my journal, where I review all kinds of things! And today, I am reviewing Comedy Central's newest show, Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire.
This show takes place in a mideival time where an empire has been overrun by an evil man. And Krod Mandoon is the leader of the Resistance, a force who is trying to stop the conquering. Krod is accompanied by a clumsy mage, a dimwitted elf, and a Pagen woman. I'm not sure if I spelled Pagen right..... But you know what I mean.
The show premiered last night. It immediately starts action when Krod is robbing a man. The action in the show is fairly well. It is pretty common to see a fight go on. The fights are all different and well-acted out.
The jokes in the show are repetitive at best.... Most of the jokes are of the same relation. The only character who seems to have a bright comedy spot is the person who is overthrowing the empire... I can't even remember his name. And the mage is also a good addition. He makes many funny puns about magic and funny excuses to why his magic won't work. But Krod seems to be the same in every part... He always is worried about the Pagen girl and he is normally whining about something......
The voice acting could use a little work. Sometimes the actors speak to quietly or quickly and you sometimes can't even understand what they're saying.
The storyline can sometimes be confusing and doesn't explain itself. Many times, the characters know EXACTLY what to do without doing anything.... Example: They were trying to rescue a man from captivity. They seemed ot know where the castle was and how to get in with no sweat. No figuring it out... They just knew!
But I do like how this show is willing to be different! It's not just some show with nothing but jokes. It is a different look at comedy. It not only does eventually make you laugh, but it does leave you with a craving to watch more........
This show has it's ups and downs, but it's not terrible...
Overall, Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire gets a 7.3 out of 10
But really, if you're up one night and don't have anything better to do, give this show a try!
