A list of the top movies that I find disturbing. All of these movies, despite being incredibly disturbing, are very good movies that I enjoyed watching. These are in no particular order, although the first movie I list is both what I found the most disturbing and also the most recent.
1. Old Boys. Old Boys was disturbing for a number of reasons. Someone cuts his own tongue off. Someone's teeth get pried out with a hammer. This is the only movie that I can think of that I've almost had to look away from the screen. That tooth scene was pretty painful. The plot twist is very disturbing. Highlight the next sentence if you wish to know the plot twist.

2. A Clockwork Orange. Well, there was all the graphicness of it, of course. And then there is the main character's actions. He rapes, vandalizes, lies, and commits various acts of violence, or "ultra-violence" without feeling any remorse, even after being caught and put in prison. Also, he gives off the appearance of being incredibly charismatic. There is also brainwashing, which I found only mildly disturbing.
3. Requiem for a Dream. It involves heavy drug use, but what disturbed me was more than that. It was the fact that from the star of the movie to the end, it was a downward spiral for three people who had no real idea what they were getting into. And finally, at the end, their lives are utter hell.
4. American Psycho. Again, rape scenes and acts of violence all throughout. However, the main character (Played by the very talented Christian Bale) appears far more normal to the public. When he finally goes totally crazy, no one believes that he killed anyone. No one believes that someone as perfectly normal as him, could ever kill anyone. Of course, my favorite scene would have to be when the ATM Machine tells him to feed it a stray kitten.
