Mum took me to get 'professionally fitted' for a bra. I had been valiantly resisting her efforts for almost a month, but today, she took me to the mall under the guise of 'Christmas shopping.' As if.
Almost immeadately, she took me to Nordstroms and had chatted around with the salespeople in the underwear department. I felt extremely ridiculous just standing around with all these lacy bras and underwear, pretending that I wasn't embarassed by this display of uncomfortable devices. Honestly, some of the bras, I could have used as a hat. I don't think people have boobs that big. Maybe they make them just in case. eek
Anyway, after a while, this old, grim looking woman came out and said she was going to get me fitted. The woman led me into the dressingrooms, and my evil mother just left me there. How cruel is that??
She put me into a changing room, practically ripped my clothes off, and proceded to force me into several bras, all hideously lacy and see-through and all that crap. Completely impractical, and I couldn't help but think of all the other women who tried on those bras as well. Ew.
After a few bras, she announced in a rather loud voice,"It looks like you're a C32. You might want a padded bra to fill yourself out."
I WANTED TO KILL HER.
Fortunately, I smiled, and pretended that I was positively thrilled at the idea of a padded bra. She handed me several (Plain, thank God they were plain!) bras, said they would fit me, and marched me out to my mother. My mother just nodded and smiled, as if it were perfectly normal for her child to be completely violated of her privacy in a dressingroom at Nordstroms, and to buy their merchandise afterwards.
Now, here I am at home, feeling extremely violated and more than a little puzzled. I would never want to wear underwear that
1) Had some hideous pattern on it or
2) Who's existance is a technicality. Seriously. Some of the underwear on those racks looked like they only existed because people thought they should. Did you know that there are such things as mesh and leather panties? Didja?
I hate being a girl. scream
