Some of you may have heard of the new show on Comedy Central called Important Things with Demetri Martin. It's a show about things.... Simple!
Demetri Martin is actually a stand-up comedian. He was on Comedy Central Presents and he had an hour stand-up show entitled Demetri Martin. Person. And if you have seen any of those stand-up shows, you will know that he has a very creative sense of humor. He plays the guitar and the harmonica with his notepad.
Important Things can be compared to Chapelle's Show, somewhat. They are both comedy/sketch series. Demetri has certain trademarks on his show that he does in each episode. He has at least one sketch in each one. He usually has him dressed up as a poetry slam artist saying a rhyme about the theme of the episode.
His jokes are very clever and not heard of and his sketches have a unique plot to them. One sketch (in the "Timing" episode) has him on the set of a drama film and he is supposed to be angry at a woman. But he has trouble expressing anger, and everytime the director says "Cut!!!!" then he bursts with anger. And eventually he ends up breaking the set.
This show certainly is worth a watch. I completely reccomend it if you like just plain comedy. And it is on iTunes, so if you can't catch it on TV then you can download an episode for only two dollars! I already did! But if you want to see it on TV, it is usually on with a new episode at 9:30 PM on Wednesdays. And you can probably catch a repeat of that episode on Thursday or Friday around 8:30 if you missed it on Wednesday.
So, overall, Important Things with Demetri Martin gets 8.7 out of 10
