My youth group leader made us write a poem to praise ourselves...here's mine, it might not make sense but I liked it
Of those who had faith in their hearts and of their weary feet,
all looking for purpose in life for themselves and others,
no matter their past.
A heron,
gracefully treading over the water,
unaware of the bayou around yet focusing intently upon it's goal.
Changing,
ever changing,
open to the sun and others,
eager to learn and listen.
The depths of the water,
where hardly any sun penetrates,
but where time has no meaning,
and the most ancient of beasts still dwell.
Not of either extreme,
neither of the hypocritical nature,
nor of the quick to anger,
but one who watched and listens without judgment.
The road continues despite setbacks,
to reach the ultimate goal;
for when one street ends...
another begins,
and is a one-way path.
