On the good side, I got into All-State, and I had the third best tape in the state.
That's pretty damned good for a sophomore who's only been playing for four years ^___________^
I'm excited about that.
I'm worried, however, about the family's money situation. I just offered up my savings to help my mom pay the bill for the college class she took over the summer. Bastards screwed us up, it wasn't her fault, but I'm just a little discouraged... I'll get it back, yes, but I'll feel like I'm taking from my parents. We have two band trips and band camp that I'm supposed to go to, not to mention All-State, but we don't have the money for them. I think I'll have to drop out of the band trips for Jazz II and Wind Ensemble (It's ok, though, I can go next year maybe, or my aunt will take me for my Senior present!) and focus on band camp, because they're in desperate need of trombonists, and for All-State because I worked pretty darned hard to get in this position.
I just wish life were easier, but I guess if it was easy then it wouldn't be as much fun ^-^
