I rode back and had the stable boy take my horse and the men to close all the gates.
I walk over to Mina and ask her were te girl was. She leads me to a room were the girl was staring at the wall. I sat next to her and waited for her to look at me. She finally did. I hate myself for it but the first question I asked was, "What happened?" She drew a quick breath and looked at me like I was insane. I just nod and tell her it was for the better good of the village. She was shocked but she started. "I was cutting mushrooms and everyone was doing their own jobs aroudn the cabin. Iwas looking out the window and saw one of them hiding in the bushes then it disappeared and a few seconds later there was a loud knocking on the door like they were trying to break in. When they did. I jumped out of the window and ran here on my way I heard the screams and then it was silent. What happened?" Her eyes were large as she asked me. She seemed old enough to tell what happened so I did. But I kept the gruelsome part out since she didn't need to know that. I could tell she was trying to brave it out but one single tear left her eye.
I hugged her and told her that, "I lost my family to the beast too. Many people have."
"Miss?" Mina walks into the room. "Sondadar Would like to talk to you."
I let go of the girl and walk out of the room.
