This summer wasn't perfect. It wasn't happy for the five youngsters. It was horrid. And terror filled at every turn.

Alice jumped into the back of the truck, and smiled at her two friends. Her cousin pulled himself into the back as well. His best friend jumped in from the side and spooked Alice's best friend, Jeo.
"So, is every one here? Jeo, and Meo, this is Yanti, and my cousin Allen. This is going to be a great summer!" As the cousin and friend became aquatinted, they sat in the back of the rickety truck. The rode was empty and barren. At the front seats sat Alice's father Quinn and Allen's mother Dd. DD was fresh from rehab, after being accused of drinking, then beating her son nearly to death. Allen was rather shy. And Yanti was outlandish and silly. Practically exact opposites. Its funny how opposites attract. Allen had honey colored hair that naturally fell into his face, hiding his left eye. And Yanti wore his long dark black hair in a ratty ponytail.
