..and so...
He skipped biggrin ily towards Larla's castle (you know who I mean by 'he') and knocked on the door. Her dad stood in the doorway: looming large and mustachey.
"Whaddaya want?" he snarled.
"Greetings, is Miss Larla at home today?" Luke asked as politely as he could.
"Yeah, but if ye wanna talk ter her, ye better hurry it up 'cause she's off ter her boyfriend's house."
Lukelan was hit hard on the face. He felt as if someone had knocked him out. Boyfriend? Had Larla ever mentioned a boyfriend? Lukelan put his hand in his pocket and felt the satin satchet he had put there to store Larla's hair.
"So? Are ye comin' in or what?" demanded Larla's father, Roy.
"Y-y-yes...I guess so..." Luke stepped into the cottage which was very warm and cozy, unlike his own home.
"LAR! LAR-LAR! There's someone here ter see ye!"
Luke heard Larla descending down the stairs, and when she saw that it was Lukelan, she narrowed her eyes in suspicion.
"I'll leave ye two alone fer now. But Lar, yer gonna be late it ye don't hurry up."
Luke closed the door behind him. "Uh, sorry to keep you, but I have to tell you something."
"Whaddaya want?" snarled Larla, in a tone not unlike her father's.
"So...you have a boyfriend?" Luke knew he was getting off topic, but he needed to figure it out.
"Yeah...so?"
"Nothing."
Silence.
"Look Luke. Like my dad said, I'm going to be late, so if you don't spit it out, I'm just going to go."
