That paper was finished two weeks ago, yet the debate is still raging. I was just going to let the thread die, but since it has been on the ED main page since it was created I may have to change my mind. I am glad that you all find the topic so engaging.
I have also decided that I may be willing to consider a debate with TheMissing80, author of the trolltastic response to my thread. After a considerable search effort on my part I have found one or two intriguing points amid the vitriol and bile that said Gaian is so well known for.
Since I am the one being asked to debate I have the right to make my acceptance conditional. I will consider a discussion if I am guaranteed a civil and intelligent debate. This means, among other things:
- No ad hominem attacks.
No logical fallacies of any kind.
No abusive language.
All points made must be addressed.
Sources must be cited.
I only make this offer because TheMissing80 seems so terribly desperate for my attention and my time. If I am guaranteed a civil and intelligent debate on this subject, then I will make myself available at a time that is convenient for both of us.
However, I doubt that this will happen.
