Dear Journal,

Since I am on my own now and living with a roommate, she and I have decided to split everything down the middle. (Things like rent, food, and other bills.) Anyway, we went on our monthly grocery shopping trip to Wal-Mart the other day. Before we check out, we tell them we're going to split it. We always do and it's gone just fine. (Once the final tab is rung up, we'll divide it by two and put half on my debit and half on hers.) Well, we tell the guy that and the amount that should go on mine and go on hers. He was Indian (no, not Native American-Indian, India-Indian) and obviously didn't understand, or though we had the ability to choose the option on the screen in front of us. No. We don't. Both her and I looked at each other, like, "Oh, God, this is going to go good...". Apparently this guy had checked us out before, but I don’t remember him. Well, we kept telling him it was showing the full amount on the screen for her card. "Slide. It is okay," he says. And, yeah, you guessed it: it went all on my roomies debit card. sweatdrop

When he called someone over, she said to go to Customer Service and they could fix it. "Oh, Lord," I thought. We get to Customer Service and I could tell by her stance we were going to have problems. She was very rude. (And she, too, didn't understand what we needed.) We kept saying, "All we want to do is put half of the tab on my card and half on her card.", and all she kept saying was, "Which items do you want to pay for." We gave it up and just physically divided the groceries.... stare

We have never had that problem before! We shop there all of the time and do that. rolleyes Anyway, that was my "moment of the week" for you. sweatdrop
