As I lay my peaceful head, on satin lined with lace,
My dreams of you come to me now, I soon shall see your face.
Your eyes, they seem as if to say, "where have you been, my love?"
I see them stare right into me but not one word heard of.
We fly by night together, through pleasure and through pain,
But, still, I hear your silence in the pounding of the rain.
I hold you tight within my arms and always in my heart.
I do not want to wake just yet, for then we'll have to part.
And suddenly I hear it now, faint but so sincere,
You whisper to me softly saying, "I'll always be right here.."
I wake with all the wonder, has it really been that long?
