Ok Day 1: (Friday)! : Shoving off. Back when I was frantic, and waiting for my dad to get home from who knows where (Was only like 5 minutes away taking care of a drop dead paranoid old lady.) I wait and wait, wanting to get there a bit early since the registrations were at the church and started at 4:30 PM and went to 5:30 PM; time as of when My dad got me and started my venture to the camp, well first off to the church was 5:00 PM. Oh boy, that means I get to get to the church at the end of registry... right? Since the church is about thirty minutes away. Anyways the time for registry was extended to 6:00 PM, so I didn't really need to be a little anxious and frantic. After everyone gets to the church, we shove all the luggage into one van (extended cabby van meant to hold a lot.) Anyways then after that, we all met everyone. Cool and there are musical talents in this crowd, 5 different people bringing guitars. cool Yay! I get to see Joel again, (Joel = Awesome character who makes serious topics and twists them into games and all that junk. Also the determined speaker of the weekend. And furthermore was a part of my church about one-and-a-half years back) Joel caught a flight back over here from Texas, just to be here with us on this event. 3nodding Anyways I had met yet another awesome person... Michael. (He was with our church, but decided to leave to Texas for educational purposes. He apparently flew back as well because he couldn't miss this event. whee ) So anyways, we have 3 more vans that are prepared for the forty-something of us children and young adults. Yay, each of the vans hold fifteen people in them. I of course jump into one van following my good ole friend Tiffany, don't worry she's just a friend. ninja And of course my friend Chris (Tiffany calls him "Mr. Duck." wink sits behind us in the van, also other cool people crowded the way back of the van. (If you want to know about the cool people, well everyone's a cool person anyways. I'm just not getting too specific with names... Unless if you want to know that then... Timo, Angel, Todd, Stephanie, Sean, Steven, and Nikki. But of course Me, Tiffany, and Chris is there as well. cool ) Ok once we are in the vans and everyone else is in their vans. It's packed up and ready to go. Not much happens in the van, well I can always tell anyways, right? Anyways, right as of taking off and the first thirty minutes go by, me, Tiffany and Chris are talking about random things and about the passing vehicles and stuff. Ok so after that much, I poke Tiffany's nose. :] Tiffany goes to poke my nose, but also at the same time Chris says, "Watch, we go over a bump." and as soon as he says bump, Tiffany's finger just smacks my nose. @.@ x) Thereafter I "steal" Tiffany's hand, well it's not stealing, but I just basically held her hand. 3nodding Her hands always are cold, but my hands always seem to be warm... Strange any? Ok after that about twenty minutes of just still random talking, ears popping, and the lot of things. We stop to go get something to eat. So all the vans park, and everyone piles out. Woo-hoo look at the selections: Burger King, KFC, McDonalds, Subways, Pizza hut, such and such... Anyways, everyone splits off on their own ways just to get back to the vans thirty minutes later. It just so happens Me, Tiffany, Chris, Timo, Joel, Dave, Michael, Holly, Micah, Michael (Yes another Michael, a total of three Michael's on this adventure.), Angel, and Todd all go to Burger King. cool Ok so then everyone orders their separate things; since I'm not too hungry I just order some fries, of course I'm sharing them with Tiffany. 3nodding Then out of nowhere, Chris pops up with having cheese cake, and his meal of the night. Ok so then I decide to go back in line to get cheese cake. cool I buy two of them (One for me, one for Tiffany.) Cheese cake is good, also it's good when you add a french fry to a bite of cheese cake. ninja After the time's up, Dave shouts that we must go back to our vans. 3nodding And since the vans are all in front of Subway... we all crowd around the area around Subway. After the vans load back up, everyone in the same vans and same spots in the vans, we go back to the road. To the camp... or so we think, when three of the vans take a right instead of a left, also making the van going in the right direction turn back and follow us. x) We all turn back around and go to the right direction. Nothing much happens then on in the vans as well, other then me "stealing" Tiffany's hand again and the random talking about things. whee As we near the end of the car ride, we take yet another wrong turn. But is fixed with an 8-point U-Turn (Wow, I just made a linkage of words that tie into the church youth group name.) Arriving the camp, parking the vans and ending the first section of the trip.
Day 1: Friday night: Unloading and the rest of the night.
So then we finally get there around 9:00 PM. So that means a total of from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, it was a good two and a half hours with a half an hour dinner round in it. Everyone then shuffles out of the vans. Yay, we all made it up in one piece. Of course now we all find the auditorium like room, that is about fifty yards away. Everyone heads on over like a heard of cows. Then once everyone is settled, everyone finds seats (the seats are in rows much like that are lined up for church.) and sits down. We all wait patiently, while Joel gets ready, and Kyle gets the sound system and the technical stuff to work. After it's all settled, and that we are all good and set up, Joel of course introduces the people who run the camp site, and then a speech is announced. The speech was more of an introduction of the do's and don?ts and that the snack bar is open 24/7. After that, of course I don't know what's going to happen next because this is my first time to these things, so I just go with the flow and all that. (side note: of course you know who I'm sitting next to. No it's not Joel he's up front on stage. xd Yes I'm sitting next to Tiffany and Chris. Ok enough with that.) So anyways, Joel is talking a little then he makes starts messing around because the microphones don't seem to be working. Five minutes of him messing around and whatnot, finally the microphones work thanks to Kyle in the back. 3nodding Ok now after that Joel gives an announcement and thanks everyone for showing up. Michael and Holly (The Michael that came down from Texas.) gets up on stage in the background part of it, and after Joel is done he sits down in front, and it is now time for praising the Lord. (Otherwise stating, singing with a passion.) After about an hour of us singing the songs that we are all accustomed to, from church and youth group, then Michael and Holly sits back down and Joel gets back up. This is where we come in with Icebreakers, (Activities in which to get things started.) Icebreaker # 1 It's nothing really we needed four participants, a table and a large tarp to cover the stage. (Things would start to get a little messy in here.) The first activity is a pie eating contest, without the use of hands. The contestants were... Timo, Angel, Monica, and Todd. Ok the whole activity time allotted to see who can eat the most of their own pie was five minutes. Everyone rooting for someone else. Joel being the judge and spokesperson on who and what happens. Along the contest, Todd was eating his pie at a moderate speed getting his face a little pied. Angel sitting there munching and got his jaw all with the pie innards. Timo was an embarrassment, one bite at a time, slower then a turtle; Timo was the top of the story and that he had failed, Joel saying his stuff to try and get Timo to scarf if down faster, which didn't help one bit. Monica was different from all the other contestants; she had determination and her ability to eat the pie with her eye's. I mean she was scarfing that down quick, eating it at face-fulls at a time. Needless to say who won. rolleyes Ok after the judging of who won, we see still a whole pie in front of Timo, Joel even lifts it up and shows everyone, Todd and Angel have about half a pie left in front of them, and Monica... lets just say all we seen was half the pie pan left. x) So after that we get some peanut butter jars out. This contest thing is a little different then the first. We need people in the back holding up a tarp shield, we need four male contestants, four more people for peanut butter applying, and all the girls in front of the stage. First off we needed precautions for everyone else, so everyone else had to take cover in the back of the room. Anyways the contestants in this contest were Kyle, Mitchell, Ryan, and Freddie. Ok onto the peanut butter smearing, the contestants had a two minute smearing of the peanut butter on their faces, with the help of Tim, Timo, Michael, and Steven they had smeared about a half a bottle each of peanut butter on the contestants faces. After that those smearers had to slide away from what action had to go on next. All the girls in front, each got a handful of M&M's (Ammunition.) So anyways how this time it worked after it got started, the girls were pelting the smeared peanut butter faces with the M&M's, to see who gets the most of those stuck on their faces. (Explains the tarp wall.) They had a five minute time limit. After that, the cleanup was a bit challenging, well for the contestants anyways. whee After the cleanup, and all were cleaned we got a little hug time (Where we all get up and hug one another.) Then after that we sit down and Joel delivers a lesson. After the lesson is over, it's about 11:30 PM. We all get out of the auditorium to find through our the masses of luggage, which luggage goes to whom. After that we all go find our cabins. It's a bit of a walk to the cabin I was in, around from the bottom of the hill, where everything is at, to the cabin about two hundred steps up. It's a total workout every time you walk or run up or down the hill. Anyways in the cabin that I was in... there were nine people in it including me. The cabin consisted of: Zummer, (The cabin leader) Todd, Angel, Steven, Kyle, Timo, Michael, another Michael, and me. Once we all get settled in and get all washed up, we all lay in the beds we all claimed who's was whose bed. Then there was a discussion about the lesson that we had that night. Confidential matters, so not to be a burden to anyone, and so no conspiracy happens. And so the ending of the first night at 12:30. Lights out and sleep.
