I've aways thought hospitals smelt like sickly, old people and sterilisation. Well now I'm doing work experience in one! Yesterday I was in the maternity ward with all the cute..... crying babies and today I was in the strokes ward. It was mostly old people sleeping with their mouths open while attached to a whole bunch of machines, but there were some surprisingly young people. This one dude was REAL young, like university young and his mum was pretty young looking too when she came to visit. You have to wash/sterilize your hands like crazy there.... every time you (before and after) come in contact with any patients. I wasn't allowed to do anything though.... because I'm still a student, but tomorrow I'm going to the emergency unit and my friend Tiff was there today and she said it was WAY cool. I had to pull her out of there to finish work exp, but she waited while she finished watching a patient get stitched up. So I'm looking forward to actually doing stuff tomorrow...
