EARTHQUAKE! 0_o
No, not really. They're just cutting trees down outside my house right now.
My desk just shook a little.

Anyhoo! That story that I started writing about the shadow wolf characters
(the one person who reads this journal knows who I'm talking about XD),
well, I got bored and started a playlist for it.

I said I would post it, so you could laugh at it, or whatever...
so here it is. XD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ . . .
Unravel, by Bjork.
Let me begin by saying I didn't pick this song for it's lyrics. The song itself had sort of a wintery vibe to it, if that makes sense.
Although now that I look at the lyrics, and the relationship between Serik and Hereka,
the song sort of fits them. Being from two different packs, they spent a lot of their time together... not actually together.
Death and All His Friends, by Coldplay.
The lyrics at the end of the song made me think of Gideon and his "I'm too old for this" attitude. And the overall song just sort of fits for no particular reason.
Mykonos, by Fleet Foxes.
Siuil A Run, by Lisa Kelly.
One of the many Celtic songs where the lyrics don't exactly represent anything
in the story, but the song just fits anyway.
Granuaile's Dance, by Mairead Nesbitt.
No lyrics for this one. It's all violin.
Violet Hill, by Coldplay.
Powerless, by Nelly Furtado.
Well, this song sort of made me think of how they have to hide themselves to keep from being hunted down.
But in the end, it was the music in the song that got it on the list, not so much the lyrics.
Little Wonders, by Rob Thomas.
Dulaman, by Meav Ni Mhaolchatha.
I DEFINATELY didn't add it because of the lyrics. XD
How Can I Not Love You?, by Joy Enriquez.
It pretty much sums up the "love vs. culture" situation.
In fact, it was made for the movie "Anna and the King", so there you go.
Earth Intruders, by Bjork.
I suppose it could represent the feud between shadow wolves and humans.
I really don't know why I picked this song. =o
In The Light, by Full Blown Rose.
Waiting For The World To Fall, by Jars Of Clay.
This song could really represent any of the shadow wolves,
but it reminded me of Chrono more than anything.
The Call, by Regina Spektor.
Harry's Game, by Orla Fallon.
One Celtic song where the lyrics actually tie into the story somewhat.
Let Me Lie, by Hayley Westenra.
Newgrange, by Orla Fallon.
Grace, by Kate Havnevik.
Flickan Och Krakan, by Mikael Wiehe.
Because... it sounded cool.
This Is Home, by Switchfoot.
Try, by Nelly Furtado.
Lost!, by Coldplay.
I kind of thought of Aion when I heard this one. Chrono, too.
You know what? This could actually fit into the other playlist, too.
Whoo, more Coldplay! XD
Hunter, by Bjork.
I didn't pick it for the lyrics.
Pagan Poetry, by Bjork.
More winter vibe, once again not for the lyrics.
The Voice, by Lisa Kelly.
Other Side Of The World, by KT Tunstall.
It sort of represents Serik and Hereka in a way.
It can also turn right around and represent Aion and Roann.
Winter, by Tori Amos.
I'm not really sure why I added this one.
White Winter Hymnal, by Fleet Foxes.
I don't know. =o
Fields of Innocence, by Evanescence.
I thought of Aion and Vanna when I listened to this.
Both characters who had to take on difficult jobs before they were really ready
to do so (Aion becoming a pack leader, and Vanna becoming an elder).
Hero, by Nickelback.
The Butterfly, by Mairead Nesbitt.
Si Do Mhaimeo I, by Meav Ni Mhaolchatha.
Also known as "The Wealthy Widow".
You can imagine that I probably didn't pick it for the lyrics.
The Howling, by Within Temptation.
All Good Things, by Nelly Furtado.
Captain H, by Mairead Nesbitt.
Never Too Late, by Three Days Grace.
    Funny thing about Flickan Och Kraken, I went to see if I could find a translation of the lyrics and found this: Metaphor Favourites: The Girl and the Crow
    A man sits at his table, reading the newspaper. He then sees a photo of a girl, desperately running with a wounded crow in her hands. The girl is tiny, her blond hair is flapping, her eyes bright, running on her thin legs for all she is worth. The crow is croaking black, clumsy and dying. Suddenly the man starts to shiver and shake in agony, since he realises that he is like the girl. In her he recognises his own frantic search for help, for someone who can take care of the dying hope that he carries. Looking for safety and warmth, for someone to tell him that everything will be alright. Running, although in his heart he knows it’s too late.
    This is the story told by Mikael Wiehe in his song “Flickan och kråkan” (The girl and the crow), and it’s one of my favourite metaphors for several reasons. First of all I see myself in both the man and the girl. I also carry hope that is sometimes fragile, and when I was a child I was often on animal rescue missions. The lyrics are also very beautifully composed, with strong, vivid words. The contrast between light and darkness, hope and fear, becomes very clear. I also like the combination of music, lyrics and a picture, because it illustrates how metaphors can take on different formats and involve various senses. The music if also very suggestive, with a beat that makes you feel every running step the girl takes. Mikael Wiehe is also famous for writing political songs, why the piece is also a good example of how to use metaphors for conveying important messages. Although the song ends sadly, for me it creates a spark, an urge to keep on running, looking for support and answers. I think that is also the purpose of the song, given the nature of the composer.
    ...So...it's actually more fitting than we thought, I guess. v neutral v
