Friendship-A Ritual

When the summer heat drops and the pool water gets freezing cold, I realize that summer vacation is ending at a rapid speed. I rush to my mailbox and took out a letter. This letter told me what class I would be in and which team I belonged to. I quickly ran back to my house, grabbing my house phone and made my way down the stairs. RING! I pressed the talk button on the silver phone.
“OH MY GOSH!” yelled Camille, my friend who can get hyper off of air. “I’mgoingtobeontheSpartan’steamandsoisJuli,Carolyn,andHabon!” she said, much too quck for my brain to disifer.
“Slowly,” I said calmly. She repeated it, this time slower than before. RING! Another call. RING! RING! RING! Five minutes ago I was only talking to Camille, now I was talking to ten others.
I sat down at my Windows computer and shook the mouse wildly. The computer scream brightened, suddenly, screens popped up from AIM, all of them asked “What classes are you in?!?!” I typed on my computer replying to everyone.
My best friend Mika sent me an E-mail. We both already knew that we weren’t going to be in the same team. We promised each other that we would spend more time on the weekends with each other. That promise was sealed with a pinky.
After hours of AIM and talking on the phone, my summer was about to end. That is what I do every summer, it’s a ritual between friends.
