Well, 2 days ago, Otakon at the Baltimore Convention Center officially ended on Sunday the 21st.
I had a lot of fun. But man, going to a convention takes a lot of energy. But it was DEFINITELY worth it. 3nodding
Thursday, the day before the event was fun as well cause that's when I went to pick up my badge with Colleen and Ashleigh! The line was GIGANTIC!!!! It just didn't seem like it was EVER going to end as we all wlaked to get in line! I was thinking that there were at least 15,000 people in the line!! But surprisingly, it only took us ONE HOUR AND 35 MINUTES to get our badges!!(Ashleigh and I, well mostly Ashleigh, timed it^^) I had no idea that we would be able to choose which anime badge we wanted. There were about 12 to chosse from, and I got Maburaho, and when my Mom got her badge on Friday, she got Chrono Crusade for me so I could have that one too. cool
Friday, that was probably the hardest day, cause Kim, Ashleigh, Colleen, and I didn't really know what the heck we were doing or where the heck we were going. sweatdrop First, we just kinda wandered around. But, as we were walking, we all played guess that cosplayer, which was fun too! But we checked out a couple of music videos, ate pizza at a cafe, then we went to the Dealer's room! Which is like one of the highlights of ANY convention, right? The line was HUGE at first, but we came later, so it was shorter and moving pretty quickly. It was awsome in there!!!! WE got FREE STUFF!!!! Like free a FREE subscribtion to the magazine Takuhai, and a FREE GTO soundtrack for signing up! And each time we went, we picked up ANOTHER FREE Tokyopop bag!!! mrgreen I got a total of 4!!! Yeah buddy!! But there was so much going on in the Dealer's room, like $5 manga and wallscrolls for $10, I couldn't even tell you EVERYTHING in just writting.
Saturday I'd have to day was the best. Cause for 1) we knew what we were doing and 2) we were more organized cause we knew what we wanted to do. Jessika joined us on Satruday. First, we had planned to get autographs, but as Jessika would say "That line was BEASTLY!!!" So, right away we skipped that, and decided we would get autographs on Sunday. So then, we went to a Tokyopop panel which pretty much set our scheduel for the rest of the day. Cause one of the American artist there, M.Alice LeGrow, or Marty as she likes to be called, was going to do a book signing in the Dealer's Room (yes, that wonderful place again^^) for her newest manga Bizenghast. We got to sit right up front in the Dealer's room cause we were like that fisrt ones there waiting for her arrival. Colleen, Jessika, and I bought the manga and we got them signed. She was really cool and funny. It was awesome meeting her and everything. Then ,we spent some more time searching in the Dealer's room. After that, we went to the game room to play a round of DDR cause Kim wanted to, of course. xp The line took a long time, but I had fun. Jessika and Colleen just sat on the sidelines and read Bizenghast. After that, we went upstairs and sat on the couches as we decided that we all wanted to go home, and we waited for my Dad to pick us all up.
Sunday was horrificly tiring!!! You know why?! Rember I said that we were going to get autographs? Well, we did, and the line took FOUR HOURS!!!!! FOUR FREAKIN' HOURS!!!! scream *sigh* But I think it was worth it. 3nodding After 3 hours of waiting, Colleen just gave up, cause she reallly didn't care anyway and sat on the wall and played KH:COM, while Jessika and I waited in line. And there was this girl, who cut us, another guy behind us, AND she was trying to cut another group of 5 kids in front of us!!! scream But thankfully, she wasn't able to, cause they just happened to move in her way. I don't even think that they even noticed that she was trying to cut them, actually. Jessika and I glared at her the whole time, while my dad and the guy behind us kept craking jokes about how she cut us. lol We got autographs from Luci Christian, Monica Rial, Greg Ayres, and Michell Ruff. I wish I had been able to get autographs from Richard Cox, Scott McNeil, and Vic Mignogna, but it's no big deal. Cause there's always next year since Otakon is at the Baltimore Convention Center every year!!! mrgreen
I hope, we'll all be able to go again next year!
