It was so much better, when the sun didn't shine.

You walked in the moonlight, far from my reach,
and slipped off the edge, of where broken hearts die.

And took me down with you.

All I had ever known, all I had ever crossed over
was brought back into my nightmares
To beat me down one last time.

Before they took you away.

Blood shed, was not enough. It wanted all of me.
All that was left, anyways.

But I remember smiling, when you fell. Into the bottomless pit below.
And you didn't look at me.
Even if you did, I didn't turn. Nor did I even want to.

Because I knew that the edge was near, but not when.
Warning was not enough. If you fell.
I knew that, in the bottom of my soul...

Saving you was not an option.
