The downside to immortalness: a vampire peom
It is over 94 degrees outside,
But inlong winter's clothing she will hide.
Her face is as blank as the white of her skin,
Which is as plain as the feelings she holds within.
Her eyes are as faded as an old photograph.
Her tears are as dry as her apatheic laugh.
Her hair is long and dark, like the story of her life,
Which was filled with void, emotyness, and lies.
Even though when she stands, shes looks faded away,
She's somehow more beatuiful than the sunset today.
The light from the sun avoids hitting herself,
And she watches at it shines on everyone else.
Her life holds no meaning, purpose, or hope.
Her ambitions are towards a downward slope.
But once, life was hers, a long time ago,
When her skin wasn't as white as some fresh fallen snow.
And she didn't seem so faded away.
When the light shone on her skin, on her skin it would stay.
She had everything a lady back then could hope for:
A prince, some wealth, her own jewelry store,
A horse that could run faster than a blink of an eye,
And fancy clothing that could make even the bravest men shy.
Oh yes, she had it all, she was despritely in love,
With her lovley finacee, whom was sent from above.
They'd sit in the park and talkfor many hours,
About silver wedding bells and little baby showers.
She was the paintbrush, he was the paint.
Toghter they made art that could make Picasso faint.
But one night, when she was alone in the dark,
She came across a theif that stole the blood from her heart.
For not even Shakespere could imange all the pain she would gain,
When she inhereted the curse of two pearly white fangs.
With the blood, the vampire took her ambitions and light,
As all of her skin became as cold as the night.
The sunlight started to avoid her skin,
And she knew she would never be human again.
Her finacee and her knew they could never be,
For she'll live forver, but die will he.
"What a gloryious monster," he said under his breath,
And he ran from her like he was running from death.
As time passed, everything she held dear melted away,
Everything she once knew had begin to decay.
Her world was all gone, but she was still here.
She watched as things became awfully queer.
The horses she had known became shiny fast cars.
What used to be churches became casinos and bars.
The ladies went from dresses to Levis blue jeans,
The youth started wearing things once only worn on halloween.
Her life, it held purpose before she was cursed,
But now, it looked like things couldn't get any worse.
Everything she had loved was forever gone with the past,
But because of her immortalness, forever she'll last.
So the next time you she her, in her shade of faded,
Don't look at her as cold or heartless or jaded.
Feel sorry for the girl, for her life is at fright,
It's as cold and empty as the dead of the night.
