Gather around, my lovelies. I am going to list my favorite fictional vampires.
1. Dracula
The definitive vampire, Count Dracula has been adapted time and time again. It is hard to believe that it all started from a novel that received little notice when it was first written. Now Count Dracula is a household name. It would be hard for me not to include him in my list. I chose to use the Béla Lugosi Dracula picture, as it is one of the most well known.
2. Orlock
Orlock is technically Dracula. The film Nosferatu released in 1922. German film makers based their movie off of Dracula. Do to copyright not being understood during that time, the film makers changed the setting and the names of the characters. Instead of Count Dracula, the villain is Graf Orlock. Orlock is a hideous, rat-like fiend; this is how Stoker envisioned Dracula in his original novel. For his fierce and frightening appearance, he makes my list of vampires.
3. Carmilla
Carmilla is no ordinary vampire. For you see, Carmilla is a vampire (vampiress if you wish to be technical) who favors female victims. Carmilla is a lesbian. Do not underestimate her, she is a killer. She slowly vampirizes a poor girl just because she can. Carmilla is unique as she usually transforms into a cat to make her escapes.
4. Myotismon
Please do not laugh. Yes, Myotismon is a character from the animated series Digimon. Yes he looks ridiculous while wearing that mask. However, looking past this will reveal something truly dark. In order to take over the human and digital world, Myotismon was willing to kill eight children and anyone else who got in his way. He manipulates his enemies and bullies his own minions; he often kills his minions once their usefulness has ended. Myotismon feeds off of humans and digimon alike. In one scene, he seduces a young woman with his hypnotic gaze before draining her of her blood. Anyone willing to kill children is evil in my book.
5. Vampirella
For one, she is sexy. Just look at her perfectly curved body, her ample breasts, and angelic face. Ahem... Her name is Ella and she hails from a planet of vampires. She spends all her time and energy ridding the world of evil vampires. Yes, she is a goody goody. However, her noble efforts have caught my attention. I find the concept of a good vampire very interesting. She must refuse her own primal urges to keep from hurting those she has sworn to protect.
