my best friend's grandfather just died of cancer.

yes, for those who have read the other posts in the journal, this is the grandfather who until just recently had a terminal case of some sort of bowel cancer.

on tuesday my friend walked into rollcall, and as we were walking to maths, she suddenly burst out crying when i asked her if she was okay. she looked at me, and i said, "bathroom. now."

we spent about fifteen to twenty minutes sitting there, her telling me that she had been crying all night and that she was just so sad, and crying and blowing her nose between intervals.

we walked into maths half an hour late and the teacher took one look at margaret's tear-stricken face and ushered us down.

later on, she harassed me about my homework [which was almost finished] and i replied, in absolute truthfulness, that i hadn't done it because i was worried about margaret and that my rabbit had escaped and i wasn't sure whether she had tried to cross the four lane road outside my house.

she just gave me a look of utter contempt and told me i shouldn't make up reasons, then, quite loudly, said "it's alright if you have problems with maths," in a patronising voice.

i don't have problems with maths.

she then stalked away, and margaret put a hand on my shoulder and said, "i'm sorry," really softly.

i am the one who should be sorry for her, not the other way around! my life seems to be upside-down at the moment.

on the bright side, i didn't have another absurdly prophetic dream last night.

i live without the freaky-weird-eyes girl for another strangely reciprocated day.
