I mean really, there's a lot that could be done in just a few days. Since I've been gone for a few days, I'll tell a little about what went on.
First day waking up at like, well not really waking up but getting to church to leave for the road at 5:30 am. Mostly the drive there was a lot of sleeping in our van anyways. Although I didn't sleep at all, possibly about 20 minutes. Well we make a few pit stops and stuff. In our van we have Dave and Seth (driver and regulator), Me, my dad, Chris, Kimi, Jason (another one, also Kimi's boyfriend), Carly, Felicia, Joyce, Sarah, and Nikki. At 6 am we took off. Well the ride at the start was kinda mellow seeing as everyone was either sleeping or really quiet. About halfway through the ride, at the 5 hour mark everyone started waking up much, Kimi and Jason kinda just sleeping mostly. Joyce, Sarah, and Nikki talking about all the random things they talk about. My dad kinda dozing in and out, Felicia in her own world kinda, and Carly reading (she's always reading).
Along the lines we get some music going on, Elvis to be more precise. By then my dad is awake and naming off songs. After a while somehow a conversation starts up.
Seth: It's Cher. Nikki: Cher? Seth (in a high pitched girly like voice): Yeeeaaaaahhhhh. Everyone just kinda busts up laughing.
Alright so after a while, we get to the final rest stop before going through the border and to our destination. Me and my dad gets reassigned to another truck so as to not make it kinda weary and noticable to make a startling gesture ofsomething. Anyways this truck has like the back filled with tools and a bunch of the stuff for the week. Ok so me and my dad are now driving with Will, and Brett. Brett being Wills son. No problems. Arriving at our destination after 10 hours of pure driving, aside from our rest stops and lunch stop and things, about an hour of stopping. So we arrive at about 5pm-ish.
We arrive at the orphanage. It's a bit different then last time when we visited, last year. We got our dorms, Guys get one and the girls get one. We unpack everything, lay everything out, get settled in for the week ahead of us. Anyways at around 6:30 we decide to go out to a taco place, this place has awesome food, and Coke in glass bottles. Well anyways we thougut up a good idea, except it didn't really go though too well. A pepper eating contest (Jalapeno's). Anyways people are really no fun. rolleyes We go back and really just get settled in and really rest up for the next few days work.
The second day starts, 5:30, well for me and some others. I wake up to my pillow vibrating (due to me putting my cell phone in it and using it as an alarm clock.) Really there's not much done, 6 comes around and everyone else who's not awake has to get up. Early morning isn't some peoples strong point. Anyways we really start getting to business when we all start heading down to the vans to get to the work site... Well what work site? I mean Ken really didn't know where it was exactly, and we couldn't just drive there without someone to follow. Well after a while and getting our point mark and navigator. We finally reach our destination? I mean how hard is this really? I mean there's houses around but where's the area of which we are needed. We find the area after a while, it was hiding behind a half of a house.
Really I'm not going to describe everything as in details much since I couldn't be everywhere 24/7, but I'll give off an overall summary. Everyone gets into groups since the area is quite small. It's hot. Everyones working hard. Some are slacking a little, but working after they get the heat drawn off. We get all four walls up. Formed the two seperate rooms and the loft. Also forming the roof. Indeedy there's some of the outside walls are already painted and the trim is getting there. Mitch (Nikki's little brother) slices his left pointer finger open with a utility knife. Bandaged. **A story should go here, also involves the next day** A job well done and quite fast for what time we had, also having like a half an hour to do some extra work. Had a little bit of sheet rocking done (about half the house.) Go Us.
Starting with a slight incident after the house we decide to return back to the orphanage, but with a slightly hair raising traction. After everyone gets into the selection of vans. Richard (Kimi's dad) is trying to make a U-Turn. Well since the roads aren't too much of a big area, the back tires are off the edge. This is like OMG AAAAHHHHHHHH for all the kids in that van. As Timo is trying to tackle his way out of our van that we got in, going over there to save his sisters, but really everyones safe, everyone gets out of that other van. We get a way to get it back up. Everythings all safe and good.
After arriving back at the orphanage, we get to play around with the kids, and whatnot. ((Skipping a lot of the day because I'm getting tired right now.)). This is the day in which dinner is pizza from a place called "Mama Mia's", The most gigantimus pizza's ever. 10 is quiet, sleepy time. Late night follies start appearing this night. Me, Chris, Mitch, Felicia, and a few others outside. Well at first it's Chris outside just practicing some Tai Kwon Do forms to relax himself, I'm just rather watching. Then Mitch comes out being his loud self. everyone telling him to "shut up" or be quiet a bunch of times. Felicia well has Tai Kwon Do in her, (Mitch is deathly afraid of her.) ** Another story should be here but I'll explain it later.**
Ok so summarizing the work sight for the third day, or second day on the house we are doing... More sheet rocking, shingling the roof, mudding and taping the walls (so it's rather better then looking at nails and sheetrock.) Nikki cutting her left pointer finger (also bandaged, I guess it's a family thing). Jason cutting his finger (well I guess it's not just a family thing.) Richard (Kimi's dad) taking about 800 or so pictures in total from the first few days and today, also with working with the house as well. Making a ladder to the loft. Getting the door on. Mitch jumping from the roof to the mountain like right next to it, (also his mom trying to get a pcture of him jumping across but getting a picture that makes it look like he's falling. Anyways I digress. We finish the house. Devote the house to the rightful owner, the Pastor of this town/area.
(((Not really going into any more of this until later. So keep in tune for the next 2-3 parts with the added stories that would be really interesting, maybe slightly disturbing in a way of clean and unique things.)))
So until next time.
Stories... Well the first story involves the work site, Nikki's mom, a disposable camera , and an outhouse. Anyways Julie, Ended up going into the outhouse, with the camera in her back pocket. She ends up dropping it in the outhouse, it apparently dropped to the side onto a wooden plank so it wasn't hitting any poo. Anyways she only realized she dropped it when we were leaving the job site. Well the second day when we were arriving at the site, one of the people there was waving the camera around for like everyone to see, and Julie's face just kinda looked like " eek "
Anyways yeah that's about that story.
And the other story involves Kimi, Jason (the other one, not me), and a little girl named Anna. Well anyways to start off... we know that Jason and Kimi are boyfriend and girlfriend. So anyways this little girl named Anna, found out that they were that way, and so then she grabbed Kimi's and Jasons hand and placed them together. After that Anna takes them to a corner of an alleyway of the orphanage and walks away. Jason and Kimi runs out of the alleyway to find out a little later Anna would find them. Anna then takes them to the area again and stands there waiting. Well then after a while Jason and Kimi runs to the safe area in which the little kids can't go, which is the dorms area we are staying at. And this is when they tell their fascinating story. Well apparently this little girl Anna is a little weird, because she makes out with the dogs that stay at the orphanage with them. This is an EEEWWWW GROSS moment. D:
