So yeah...got dragged along on another small trip this past week. I've been in Helen, Georgia since Monday and I just got back maybe an hour or so ago today...it was rather uneventful...except for the part where the river was after my life...but I'll get to that in good time.
Monday we drove the three hours, checked into our cabin with our family friends or whatever and got settled in, then I went with both sets of parents into town to just browse around the shops and whatever. I swear...it was the hottest day ever, something about 105 degrees when we were at about the halfway point. We went back to the cabin after seeing what was around and grabbing restraunt junk or whatever...and then we all went out to eat...came back, played a game or two..and then went to bed.
Tuesday we were all up at six in the morning getting ready for a huge rafting trip..oddly enough, the one thing I was looking forward to in this whole escapade. We got there around 8 and then set off on the river about 9 ish...problem being, we had to lug this huge raft down on our heads, as well as the rest of the gear (helmets, paddles, lunch, water coolers, all sorts of other stuff too) half a mile TO the river from the drop off point. When we finally got on the river it wasn't all that bad, lots of paddling, lots of laughing...finally a thing my dad can't b***h at me over...I got sunburnt all to hell though. My thighs and shoulders are florescent pink..and it hurts to move x___o;
Wednesday we went tubing...slept in and kinda took our time, but then we went to this place in town where we got these huge intertubes and went floating down a river...sorta like a lazy river in a water park..only in rocks and rapids and junk....and this is where I found out the river was in a pact for my life. The very first small rapid we went over, I got tipped over and dragged under a group of three rafts by the current...I came up on the other side only after I had bashed my head really well on a rock...five minutes into the ride. I just shook it off and hopped back in, hoping it'd get better...but I got stuck on every possible rock, sprained my ankle, and bruised up my left leg real well before we even hit the half way point...so I just strapped myself onto my mom's tube so it would be a bit more balanced if anything else ^^; We rode through, got out, went to the cabin, came back into town to eat..and I was just miserable...I was dizzy and shaky and stuff...so I just layed down on the floor of the restraunt with my head on my mom's shoes...and took a motrin...We went and played putt-putt...I got a 43 on a 40 par course...which wasn't bad...went back to the cabin..and I was out..I slept for about 12 hours...
And today...we checked out of the cabin, went to a bakery in town for breakfast...I had a bavarian creme filled donut and a lemon danish..both split with my dad...and then we went shopping through town again...and we decided to go tubing again...no disasters this time until the end when it flipped my face right onto a rock...so..yeah..I was done after that...
And then we came home..and we weren't happy at all with eachother...and it was that thick akward silence...
I'm sore..I'm burnt to a crisp..I can't move without biting my lip...and I think I either broke my toe or seriously knocked it out of whack..
8D yay <33
