An Adolescent Vampire chpt. 12
An Adolescent Vampire
Chapter 12

"Just don't die on me." I whispered. I heard Max sigh and relax in Corona's arms.
I looked back at my father, lying on the ground. No matter how evil he was, he was still my father. I walked over to him and lifted his limp corpse. "I'm sorry father.
But I am not fully ashamed of what happened." I whispered closing his eyes for the last time.
--------
Corona and I arrived at Victor's cave. We burned my father into ashes, then released it into the wind. Then we went inside.
"Haine! You're alive!" Jake ran up and hugged me tightly. I smiled, tears falling, and hugged him back.
"I'm so happy you're alright Jacob." I whispered. He leaned down to go kiss me, when I saw Victor walk in.
"Where is he? Maximillion?" Victor asked. I looked at Corona. She lied Max down on the ground. Victor walked over, knelt down and looked at him for a while.
"Will he live?" I heard Angel ask. Victor was silent. I looked up at Jake nervously.
"He is breathing, but his breathes are labored." Victor replied.
"But will he live?!" I pleaded. Victor closed his eyes. It seemed like years went by before he opened his eyes and stood up. He faced me. He looked into my eyes.
"Maximillion is dieing." he whispered. My heart shattered.
"No..... He can't die! Not after all we did for him! He can't die! He's not allowed to!"
I screamed. Jake held me close.
"It's alright Haine. Calm down." he whispered. For once, I didn't obey.
I got out of Jake's stone hard grip and flew to Max's side. He was getting pale.
He was having trouble breathing, and with every breathe, alittle more blood would come out of his chest.
"Bryce did, in fact, stab Maximillion in his heart. But unlike Bryce, the stab didn't go fully into his heart. It left a highly dangerous gash in his heart that will slowly drain his heart dry. His heart will collapse and stop completely. I am sorry Haine.
But we cannot stop Maximillion from dieing." Victor said. I began to cry.
"How long does he have left?" I heard Jake ask.
"Maximillion will die at sunset." Victor said. I spun to look at him, tears streaming down my cheeks. Victor didn't look at me. Jake walked over and hugged me tightly.
"We'll get through this Haine. Please stop crying." he whispered, but it just made me cry more. I knew Jake was crying as well.
"Isn't there any possible way to save him?! Any at all?!" I pleaded Victor.
He looked at me.
"There is only one way to maneuver around his death, but he will still die in a matter of speaking." Victor said after a long thought.
"What do you mean?" Jake asked, loosening his grip on me.
"I could cast a spell on his to preserve his body. I could make it so only one person could bring him back to life." Victor said. My heart skipped.
"What is it?!" I asked.
"I could put a spell on him."
"Yes, but what kind of spell?" Jake asked.
"When the blood of a young woman is in sight or scent, and at that moment says his name, he will be reborn again, into the world he departed from."
Victor recited.
"So, if a woman is bleeding around him and says his name, he'll come back to life? That sounds simple!" I said. But Victor shook his head. My smile faded.
"Only a nondead woman can. And she must be pure. Haine, you cannot revive Maximillion. You are practically dead already because you are a vampire.
The one who revives him must be a mortal or a demon. And no one around here is is one likes him. It will work, but it could take days, monthes or even years."
Victor said. I looked at Max.
"We have to try. I'd rather take this chance then loose Max forever." I whispered.
Victor nodded.
"I'll leave you alone with him. It is almost sunset." Victor walked out of the cave.
I looked down at Max. He was awake.
"Max." I said. I looked up at me.
"I'm dieing?......." He whispered.
"Yes, you are Max. But don't worry, there is a chance that you will be revived one day!" I said.
"I...know...I heard......." he whispered.
A tear fell down my cheek. Max looked up at Jake.
"Jacob...... When I .....die...... I need..... you and......Haine to rule...... in my.... place.... we need.... a... king...." Max whispered. Jake nodded.
"I will Maximillion." He smiled sadly, a single tear falling. He looked into my eyes and I turned back to Max.
"I....thank....you.....Haine.....Good-bye...." he whispered. He saw Victor walk in, and he knew he was about to die. As if on cue, Max closed his eyes and sighed deeply. Victor recited the spell. A bright light flew around Max like fireflies in the night. When the light faded, Max's body was frozen in that form in a crystal casket.
My eyes were filling with tears as I looked at Max's body through the crystal.
"Don't worry Max.... I'll never forget you! I'll find a way to break the spell!
I won't rest until I get to hear your voice again!" I said.
Jake took me in his arms and cried with me.

(That is the end of An Adolescent Vampire! But stay tuned for the epilog!)
