Ok hers a story PokeDaBubble wrote and i liked it so here it is
Chapter 1
“Rose, what do you mean ‘you can’t find him’?” screamed my best (and ok I admit it, only friend), Grace.
Grace and I have been best friends ever sense first grade when she offered to share her Oreo’s with me at snack time because some icky boy stole mine. And Grace, being the lovely person that she is, even when she was 6, protected me from boys, coodies, and the rest of the world, putting up with my silliness all the time.
“It wasn’t my fault!” I pleaded with her.
“How was it not your fault? You let him chase a squirrel because you thought he was too fat and needed the exercise!” Well that part was true. But you should have seen that thing! It was just one big blob of blubber. You could barley see his face.
“Well how was I supposed to know that he wouldn’t come back?” I mumbled.
“Umm, I don’t know maybe because he’s a dog!” Oh no, I thought Grace is getting angry now, time for plan B. Ice Cream.
“Okay Grace, calm down. Now lets discuss this like mature somewhat, adults.
Over a nice big bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.”
“… Fine. You’re paying though.” She said reluctantly.
Well there goes my allowance for the week. I thought.
So, we got to Joe’s, (the local ice cream place), we ordered a triple scoop of rocky rode and moose tracks mix on a waffle cone for me, and a single scoop mint chocolate chip in a bowl for Grace, but I had made the mistake of giving Grace sugar, which is a big no no when I comes to Grace.
“Okay, first let’s make a list of the things that we need to do.” She says as she pulls out a notepad and her “special” purple pen.
Grace is obsessed with making lists. “When in doubt, make a list.” And what is a list without her “special” list making purple pen?
“Umm… I don’t know make posters?” I said cautiously not wanting to upset her again.
“No that would take to much time. Maybe some flyers would be better. But than we need to- Rose, ROSE? Are you even listening to me?”
“What? Oh, um ya posters right.”
“FLYERS not posters. Ugg, Give me those!” said grace as she yanked the sugar packets that I was stacking into a pyramid on the table, away from me.
“Hey!” I said and flicked one of the packets at her.
“Now, unless you want to find Mr. Squish on your own, you need to help me make the list.” Said Grace exasperated
“Mr. Squish?” I said giggling “seriously? That’s his name?”
“Ya what did you think his name was?”
“I don’t know. I was calling him Larry. Really, what kind of name is Mr. Squish?”
“What kind of name is Larry?”
“Touché” I said. Huh, I wonder what touché means. These are the questions that truly need to be googled. Ha ha. Google is a funny word. Google. Google, google. Google, google, google, google, google. Ok rose, shut up. I thought to myself.
“Now that you know his real name, we need to go make a poster.” Continued Grace
“I thought you said no posters?” I said. This girl really needs to make up her mind. I thought.
“Well,” said grace in her know-it-all voice. “while you were building your sugar pyramid, I was actually thinking of a plan.”
“And that would be…?” Now I was interested. I like plans. Especially ones that involve distracting Grace so I can steel some of her ice cream. Yum, yum, yum.
“We just make one or two posters and than just copy them on my computer or at the library.” Said Grace matter-of-factly, slapping my hand away as I reached for her mint chocolaty goodness.
“Well unless you want to pay 10 cents per copy, I think we should go to your house.” I said disappointed. She got me all excited for that plan? That wasn’t even remotely exciting. I thought we were going to rob a bank or something. Don’t ask me how that would help find a missing dog. I’ve just always wanted to rob a bank.
“Oh, ya, right. I forgot.” Said Grace Sheepishly
So we finished our ice cream and walked back to Grace’s house. Spotting Justin, I immediately averted my gaze and quickly turned the corner into a painting shop up ahead. I heard the tinkling sound of the bell as Grace Walked in after me.
“What,” she said trying to catch her breath “was that about?”
“Nothin’” I said avoiding her gaze.
“That,” she said turning me around to face her. “Was not nothing. What’s going on between you two? You were getting along pretty well at the dance last week.”
That might have been true, but she didn’t need to throw it in my face like that. Okay, maybe I should explain a little more. Justin is Grace’s neighbor. Grace and I use to play in his pool when we were kids, but than we kind of grew apart once we got to middle school. And yes, if your wondering, I did dance with him at the School dance, but than, so apparently did about 10 other girls, and even a guy or two. Not that I care. He’s just her stupid neighbor. Why should I care?
So instead of answering I just gave her the dirtiest look I could muster. She got the point.
“Get out! Get out! No minors in my store! Out! Shoo!” Yelled an angry looking Chinese lady in her late 100’s by the looks of her, as she came out of the back room with a broom and chased us out. How nice of her. I didn’t catch her name. Pity.
“First we need to make the original posters” Said Grace acting all official. Once we got to her house, finally off the subject of Justin, whom she very kindly did not mention all the way home.
“And how do you suggest we do that, your royal highness?”
“Ha Ha, I have some craft stuff in the basement from when I was in girl scouts.”
“To the basement!” I said very loudly, and pointed to the stairs.
When we got downstairs we found a lot of different colored boxes stacked on top of each other. There was a box on every inch of the floor and some stacks to the ceiling. They were all labeled differently. There was one marked Halloween, one marked Easter, and a couple marked Christmas. We had a lot of work to do.
After searching for a few minutes we started to think it was impossible.
“Found it yet?” I yelled from the top of one of the stacks.
“No, but I think I’m stuck between two tubs!” Yelled Grace from between two, rather large, boxes in the back of the room.
“Are you serious?” I said laughing. Tripping over a box marked Golf Clubs.
“Does it look like I’m kidding?” Screamed Grace, despite her pain she was laughing too.
“That’s what there called? Tubs?” I said tugging at a box labeled Grace’s baby pictures.
“Yes, that’s what the lady at the store called them when we bought them.”
“That’s a funny word” I said laughing.
“Yes, it is quite funny, now can you please help me get out of here?”
For the next 5 minutes we were pulling and pushing trying to get her out, laughing our heads off. Finally we got her free from the clutches of those evil plastic tubs. Hee, hee, tubs.
“Finally,” said Grace exasperated. “I thought I was never going to get out of there!”
“Um, grace? Our adventure isn’t over yet.” I said pointing up at the tower of tubs that, apparently we had just upset.
“AVELANCH!!!” We screamed.
Before we knew it were buried in Christmas ordainments, Happy New Years headbands from 2003, and old family pictures.
“I found it!” I said covered in glitter and moaning under all of the stuff.
“Well that’s just what we need. Some glitter will definitely help us get out of here.”
Said Grace very sarcastically.
“Well there’s no need to be sarcastic” I said annoyed. “Your negative attitude won’t help us get out of here either Gracey-Poo. Start moving Tubs.”
“You know what? This is so horrible it’s almost funny.” Said Grace, giggling, climbing over what appeared to be half of a giant teddy bear.
“Ya, in an old horror movie sort of way.”
Than at the same time, we fell onto the floor laughing our head off knocking down even more antiques and odd objects.
“Girls? Are you down there?” Graces mom called down the stairs.
“Ya, but we’re kind of stuck.” Grace yelled back up at her.
“And how did you two manage to do that?” said Graces mom sounding amused.
“Long story.” I yelled.
“Don’t ask.” Grace added with a small laugh.
“Well, you can tell me later. Just climb over all the boxes, there’s someone here to see you!”
“There called tub’s!” Grace and I yelled at her at the same time.
“What?”
“Never mind” said Grace “Whose here to see us?”
“You’ll see in a minute.”
We finally got to the stairs after climbing over all of the tubs, ending up with only a few bumps and bruises, (mostly on me.) Than once we finally located the stairs, and climbed up them, (which was harder than it sounds; being that it was covered with two feet of God-knows-what.) Grace let out a piercing scream at the sight of our so called “guest” as her mom liked calling him.
“MR. SQUISH!!!” Yelled grace sprinting over to meet him. Receiving a very wet kiss on the neck as she hugged him.
“Oh, squishy baby! I missed you so much! Yes I did!” She said in her most revolting baby voice.
“You mean, I just fell on a gnome’s, very pointy, head and bruised my leg in 5 different places for no reason?” I said, exasperated, wondering why I let that dumb dog chase that squirrel.
Grace and Mr. Squish both gave me the evil eye.
“Where was he?” She asked turning to her mom.
“On the porch of all places waiting to be fed”
“Told you he was a pig” I muttered.
And there’s that evil eye again. Why was I the only one getting that eye that day? Grace’s mom didn’t even help us out of the basement when we got stuck down there. She should be the one getting the evil eye, not me.
“Oh, before I forget. Rose, your aunt called she said she wants you home, it’s getting dark.”
After I said goodbye to Grace, who was feeding Mr. Squish at the time even when I told her that he didn’t need it, her mom dropped me off at my house. I had just realized how tired I was. What time is it? I wondered. It must have been late, it was already dark out. As I peered through the car window as we were pulling out of the drive way, I thought I could see a faint shadow lurking by the window in Justin’s house. But, than as quickly as it had appeared, it was gone again.
“And where have you been all day?” Said my Aunt Clair’s curious paint flecked face peeking out from the kitchen, wearing her lovely flowered smock, I might add as the rest of her came out from behind the wall. “And why in the world are you covered in glitter?”
“Long story. Tell you tomorrow. Going to bed”
“Well, full sentences would be nice, so I guess I can wait.” She said laughing.
When I finally got to bed and lay there staring up at the stars painted on my ceiling, I thought over and over to myself one thing and one thing only. I am never, ever getting a dog.
Chapter 2
Okay, maybe that wasn’t the only thing I was thinking as I fell asleep that night. The name Justin might have popped into my head a couple hundred times too. His soft shiny black hair, his deep blue eyes, the way he- wait a minute. No, stop it Rose. You don’t like him remember? He has a girlfriend. Not just a girlfriend, a very popular girlfriend, that you have no chance in competing with at the moment. Not that I would want to. Why would I compete for someone who I don’t even like? Anyway, new subject. What time is it? It is… 7:15. Hmm. Oh crap. Crap, crap, crap. I over slept. I have 20 minutes to get ready! Why didn’t my alarm go off? I thought franticly trying to get ready.
“Aunt Clair!!!” I yelled down the hallway trying to multi-task brushing my teeth and hair at the same time. “Did you shut off my alarm? Aunt Clair!!!” As I looked into her studio I saw her sleeping in her chair, paint brush in hand.
“Aunt Clair! Wake up! You have a class in 5 minutes and you still need to drive me to the book store!” I said poking her until she was thoroughly awake.
“Why do you need to go to the book store? They have perfectly good books in the library down the street, and you can walk there.” She said sleepily taking my brush to throw her hair back in a ponytail.
“Umm, let’s see, maybe because I work there?” I said exasperated.
“Oh poo. Was that today?”
“Yes, that was today. Today is Monday. I’ve worked every weekday, since the beginning of summer. Remember? And I can’t be late again!” I said slowly trying to make her understand.
“Oh I’m so sorry! Can’t you just take my car over there?”
“No I can’t. I only have my learners permit. I need an adult in the car with me.”
“Oh alright than. I’ll get Christina to take over while I’m gone.”
Christina Michles was one of Aunt Clair’s best art students at the art shop that we live over and, in Aunt Clair’s case, teach at. And very conveniently she is also Justin’s older sister. Small world.
Finally we came to the street that Kimberly’s Books & Bookends, was on. I got out of the car and started walking toward the shop as Aunt Clair drove away much faster than the speed limit. Rolling my eyes I walked into the maze of books on top of books, the tinkle of the bell ringing as I walked in.
“Finally!” said Grace exasperated as I sat my bag down on the chair nearest to me, “Where have you been? I’ve been making up excuses for you for an hour. She thinks you’ve been here since 7:30. Thank god this place is so big. I told her you were going around the shop re-alphabetizing everything.”
“Thank you so much, Grace, this is the last time I swear.” I said thinking how good of a friend she is.
As I put my stuff away, I figured I better do what Grace had said I was doing in the first place, so I headed into the maze of books and started checking for out of place books that people had thought about buying and than shoved on the nearest shelf.
After 20 minutes of searching for lost books, my stomach started to growl very loudly.
“Shh! Be quiet.” I whispered to it. My stomach however, didn’t listen to me. So I sprinted past bookshelf by bookshelf looking for the right one. All the way in the back I found the one I was looking for. It was labeled biography underneath it was a sticker marked 10 Cense a copy. I reached behind a biography of Martha Stewart and found what I was looking for. A collection of Milky Ways, Kit-Kat bars, and Snickers bars lay behind them. Hungrily I grabbed one of the Snickers bars and started eating my breakfast. My stomach was very happy. As I was standing there smiling at the yummy goodness that is snickers, I heard faint laughter from around the corner of the bookshelf. I peaked behind the shelf and realized that there was a hole of books in my bookshelf that you could see right through to the other side where I saw, no other than Justin Michles laughing at me over his copy of wolfs and other forest dwelling animals.
“’ey!” I said my mouth still full of chocolate, trying to muster up a little bit of dignity. This made him laugh even harder.
“Shtop it!” I said laughing too trying not to choke on the candy bar.
Soon we were both practically on the floor laughing.
“So, is this what you really do while you’re at work? Sneak candy bars from behind bookshelves?” Justin said with a smirk.
“No.” I said with a smile. “Sometimes I read the Where’s Waldo? Books too. But I see your more into forest dwelling animals.” I said looking at the cover of his book with a little laugh.
“I don’t know how you read those books. I still can’t find what’s so amusing about looking for a guy in a striped shirt. If I wanted to do that I could just put a red and white sweater on a squishy dog. I heard those are sometimes hard to find.” He said with an all-knowing smile.
“I can’t believe Grace would tell you about that!” I said with my mouth open.
“She didn’t. Her mom came over right after and told my mom what happened. So tell me, how did you end up getting covered in glitter again?”
Right in the middle of smacking him in the arm, I heard someone call “Rose!” And turned around to see Kimberly standing over me with an angry expression on her face.
“Is this what you’ve been doing for the past 2 hours? Eating candy bars and flirting with random boys?”
“Butt…” I stammered
“No butt’s! In my office now!”
I glanced back to see Justin giving me an apologetic look, before I was dragged back to Kimberly’s office.
Kimberly wasn’t very old. Only in her mid twenties, and was usually very nice, except when she was in a bad mood. Than you had better run. Today was one of her bad days.
“I can explain, I was just putting away books, when I got hungry and got some candy out of my bag, than I got distracted and…” Kimberly held up her hand to silence me.
“I’ve had enough of your goofing around. You’re always late, and when you’re on time, you spend all your time talking to friends, and flirting with boys”
“Butt-.”
“No butt’s. You’re fired.”
My mouth fell open. Fired? How could I be fired? I needed this job! We needed the money! Mouth still open, I turned to leave. I walked out of Kimberley’s office to find Grace standing there with a concerned look.
“What happened?” She said.
“I got fired” I said weekly.
“Fired? Why? What happened? Did she find out I was lying? Oh I’m so sorry, I’ve always been a bad liar, you know that. Ooh. I’m so sorry!”
“It’s okay. It’s not your fault. I have to go.”
“How are you going to get home?”
“I don’t know.” I sighed. “I’ll think of something.” And on that note, I turned to leave.
When I got outside I saw Justin standing there by the beat up old truck that he and his sister shared. He was a couple months older than me, and already got his license.
“Need a ride?” he asked apologetically.
“How did you know?” I asked getting in.
“I could tell by the look on your bosses face that it wasn’t going to be good news, whatever it was.”
As we drove, the silence got more and more awkward, as we each thought about what Kimberly had said about me “flirting with random guys.” When we finally reached the Art studio, he spoke.
“Sorry I got you fired” he said, really meaning it.
“It’s not your fault, all those days of playing Where Waldo? In the back of the store and being late almost every day helped a lot too.”
“Still…”
“Really, it’s fine. I have to go. Bye.”
“Bye.”
I watched him drive his beat up old truck down our street as I sighed, and started heading up the porch steps.
“Rose, what are you doing here?” whispered Christina who was closest to the stairs where I was trying to sneak up unnoticed.
“Got fired, shh.” I whispered back putting my finger to my mouth telling her to be quiet so I wouldn’t draw attention to my aunt who was now fully awake. Christina gave me a sympathetic look as I walked up the stairs gloomily.
When I got up to my room on the top floor of our three story building that Aunt Clair owned where my room was, I ran to the phone to call Grace to tell her what really happened at the book store with Justin, only to get her voice mail.
“Ahhh!” I yelled out of anger to no one in particular as I slammed down the phone. I had forgotten she was still working. Trying to think of something to occupy my time until Grace got out of work. I grabbed the nearest news paper and started to read the first page I saw. Job listings. Of course. I threw that down and screamed angrily again.
“Rose? Are you okay?” a voice said at the doorway. I jumped. It was Christina.
“What? Oh, ya. I’m fine. Just trying to figure out what to do now that I don’t have a job.”
“Oh. I’m so sorry about that, what happened?” Christina asked, concerned as she sat down at the end of my bed where I was laying.
“Umm, long story. The point is, is that I have no job, no money and I am extremely bored.”
“Have you ever thought of taking painting lessons downstairs? It’s a lot more fun than it sounds, and I can help you, not to mention that you would get free classes since your aunt’s the teacher.”
“I tried it when I was 8, but I got bored of it and started splattering paint over my picture of the barn we were supposed to be drawing. I thought it looked much better that way though. I guess I could give it a try again though, or at least help out, that way I might get paid.”
“There you go. See? It’s not so bad not having a job, now you have time to try new things.”
“Ya, I guess. Thanks.”
Christina got up to leave. But as she was leaving she said, “And me and my brother share a car, so you’ll be able to see him again too.” She smiled, and than left. How much did she know? Did she see him drop me off? Does he talk about me? Does she know something that I don’t? Why do I care? He’s just my friend, if that. I thought to myself as I lay there on my bed waiting for 2:00 when Grace got home from work. 20 minutes later the phone rang. It wasn’t Grace.
Chapter 3
“Hello?” I said into the phone, not recognizing the number on the caller ID.
“Mooshie, Bubbles. Mojo has captured Blossom and shall steel all of her Chemical X if you don’t go to the Volcano in 10 minutes. For, I am Mojo Jo Jo!!! Mwah ha ha ha.” The line went dead. Smiling to myself, I ran to my closet, grabbed my purple octopus backpack, put my hair in pigtails and sprinted down the stairs.
About a block down from the studio, there was an old broken down park next to the forest. I wandered into the dense tree’s looking for the right one. Finally I found what I was looking for. A big old dead tree, with branches really low to the ground, and at the top, was a large wooded box that you wouldn’t be able to see unless you knew it was there, because there were so many leaves covering it.
As I threw myself up on top of the first branch, I heard evil laughter from above, than a scream. I climbed faster trying to get to the top in time. Once I reached the Opening to the “Volcano” I saw Grace with a large red bow in her hair, trying not to laugh, as she was being tied to the chair, by none other than Justin, wearing a big hat with a brain on it, and a cape.
“Not so fast, Mojo Jo Jo!” I said trying not to laugh at the sight of them.
“Oh, but you are too late! I have already started draining the Chemical X from her body, and soon, it will be mine! And I shall be all powerful! Mwah ha ha ha!” said Justin, also trying not to laugh.
“Not if I can help it!” I said, and pulled out blue rubber snowflakes from my bag, and threw them at him. He fell to the ground not moving, except for his silent laughter.
“You killed him!” Cried Grace from her chair. Than we were all on the floor laughing. Except Grace, who was still tied to her chair.
“How did you get out of work?” I asked her once we had all settled down.
“I told you,” Said Justin, “I kidnapped her.”
“But how?” I asked, laughing at the thought of Justin going into the bookstore with his cape, and throwing Grace over his shoulder, laughing like a maniac.
“I have my way’s” he said mischievously.
“He made my mom call” said Grace rolling he eyes.
“You just have to take all of the fun out of things don’t you?” He said looking at her.
We sat in silence for a little bit, looking around at our old tree house that we use to play in all through elementary school. Where we made up our own language, and played Powerpuff girls, trying to get Justin to be Buttercup. I laughed at how ridiculous we looked, now that we were older. Grace with her bow, Justin with his cape, and me with my pigtails.
“Has this place gotten smaller or is it just me?” I asked to no one in particular.
“I’m pretty sure it’s us, being that we haven’t been up here since we were 10.” Said Justin.
“Ya I’m surprised you still remembered our language.” I said with a laugh, remembering how he used our word “Mooshie” instead of hello, when he called me.
“Oh like you don’t remember it.” He said indignantly. I was just about to reply, when his cell phone rang.
“One second.” He said to us, “Hello… Ya…. Sure… Be right there.” He said into his phone.
“I have to go.” He said “My mom wants me home.”
“’Kay.” We said, “See ya.” He climbed down the tree and started to walk back toward his house.
“I think he forgot he was still wearing his Mojo Jo Jo costume.” Said Grace giggling.
“Think we should have told him?” I asked laughing. Watching people point and laugh at him as he walked home.
“Nah.” She said “he’ll figure it out, besides, it’s more fun this way.” As they watched him walk away, I started to tell her about what really happened at the bookstore. Soon, though, as my story was coming to an end, it started to get dark out.
“Hey, you know, we haven't spent the night up here in forever.” Said Grace lying back on the bean bag that was in there for the past 10 years.
“Meet back here in 20 minutes?” and we were off. Racing back to our houses quickly packing snacks, pajama’s, blankets and other goodies.
“And where are you going?” said Aunt Clair walking into my room as a franticly threw things into my purple octopus bag.
“Spending the night in the volcano.”
“Well have fun” she said with a laugh. I raced back to the volcano to find Grace already there in her P.J.’s watching Elf on the mini TV that we put in there and forgot to take out.
“Chocolate covered popcorn?” she asked handing me a bowl.
“How did you get back here so fast?” I asked grabbing some popcorn while plopping down on the bean bag next to her.
“Rode my bike” she said distracted by the TV.
“You rode your bike???” I asked shocked “Butt… your not allowed to ride your bike! Didn’t we make that like a rule or something? That way no one is left without a bike if we decide to go fight crime somewhere, and the others are left flying behind.”
“Oh ya…oopsie.”
“Ya, oopsie is right.” I said grabbing my bag and changed into my pajamas. (Tank top and really short shorts)
“Now that’s not something I would expect Bubbles to wear” said Grace with her eyebrow’s raised.
“Hey, it was the only thing clean and it get’s really warm up here.” I said defensively.
“If you say so.”
So we watched the rest of the movie, until Grace fell asleep on me, and I had to turn it off so she wouldn’t wake up and be mad at me for letting her fall asleep. Soon after I fell asleep too dreaming of Mojo Jo Jo, kidnapping me and tying me to a giant heart and forcing me to eat pickle flavored popcorn until I would wear his hat. But than I woke up to hear someone climbing up the side of the tree.
“Hello?” I said getting up to see who was responsible for waking me up.
“Who’s there?” Called Justin half way up the tree.
“Who do you think?” I said helping through the tiny entrance.
“Well, I don’t know. Being that you haven't been up here in 5 years or so. Maybe someone found it and I just never knew about it.”
“Do you come up here all the time or something? What are you doing up here anyway?” I asked suspiciously.
“Nothin’ I usually come up here to read in the morning.” He said, “What are you doing here?” he asked with raised eyebrows, eyeing my, oh so revealing pajama’s. Noticing too, I quickly grabbed a blanket and covered myself up to the best of my abilities.
“I spent the night here with Grace.” I said. We both looked over to see Grace Passed out on the Bean bag.
“So…” I said after an awkward silence. “What book are you reading?” I asked not really caring.
“Oh…” he said hiding the book under his coat. “Just some stupid science book. You wouldn’t like it.”
“No really,” I said reaching for the book. As I tried to grab it though, he slapped my hand away. “Hey! Why won’t you let me see it?” I said as a wrestled him trying to get the book out of his coat pocket. When I finally got it from him, using my sneaky ninja tickling attack, I gasped, than started laughing uncontrollably.
“The sisterhood of the traveling pants? Really Justin?” I said laughing even harder on the embarrassed look on his face.
“Give it back!” he said as he snatched it out of my hands and began to pout at my continued laughter. “It’s a really good book,” He said trying to defend himself.
“I’m sorry!” I said trying to control myself. “I’m sorry. I just thought someone with so many girlfriends would be reading a manlier book, that’s all.”
“Girlfriends?” He said. “What girlfriends?”
“Oh, come on. Don’t play dumb. You are constantly talking to girls, and having them over your house, and going to movies…”
“They aren’t my girlfriends, there just my normal friends. I don’t accuse you of dating Grace.” He said offensively.
“Ya, but Grace is a girl.” I said.
“So are my friends.”
“What?” I said confused.
“Rose, I’m gay.”
Chapter 4
“Umm, Rose?” Said Justin, waving his hand in front of my face. I was starring, mouth open at him, my mind racing. Gay? This makes no sense. How could he be gay? It’s impossible… though he did always enjoy playing powerpuff girls with us…
“Are you sure?” I asked dumfounded.
“Pretty sure” he laughed. There was a long pause.
“Well that explains the book.” I said after a while. He smiled.
“So you’re okay with this?” he asked referring to his previous announcement.
“Sure, sure.” I said half smiling. “Why wouldn’t it me okay with me? I’m fine. A little shocked, but fine.”
“Well that’s good. For a while there I thought you liked me or something.” He said smiling.
“What? Me? No… Why would you say that…?” I said trying to laugh it off.
“Okay, just making sure, because that would lead to some problems given the current circumstances.”
“Yeah it would wouldn’t it… so are you going to tell Grace?” I asked.
“Lets just let her sleep for now.” He said.
“Or we could have some fun.” I said with an evil grin on my face.
“Oh, no. I know that look. What are you planning?” he said pretending to be disapproving, but I could see he was smiling.
“Well…” I said, and continued to tell him my brilliant plan. If this was going to happen, I was going to have as much fun with it as humanly possible.
“No.” he said, starting to back away. “Absolutely not. Don’t even think about it. Get away from me with that!” he yelled and slapped my hand away.
“Oh come on!” I said “It’s just a little lipstick…” I yelled lunging at him, pinning him to the ground and managing to get some of my hot pink lipstick on him. Than sprinting to get my makeup case as he hid behind the bean bag where Grace was sleeping. Neither of us noticed her starting to wake up as we chased each other around the room wrestling with the makeup. I was just putting on the mascara while sitting on his chest, when Grace finally spoke.
“Umm…” she said with raised eyebrows. We froze at the sound of her voice slowly turning our heads to look at her. This must have looked really bad from her point of view, not knowing about his gayness and what-not, and seeing me sitting there on his chest pinning him to the ground, about an inch from his face ( I was trying to get the mascara on and his eye wouldn’t stop twitching.) probably didn’t help the situation.
The both of us started rambling out excuses and Grace just sat there with a smile smiling, after a while, we both fell silent.
“It’s not what it looks like!” I said but Grace just raised her eyebrows.
“It’s not I swear.” He added.
“Mhm. Sure.” She said
“No really!” I said exasperated. “It’s not! Because that would be weird,”
“And why would that be?” Grace asked still smirking.
“Because he’s gay!” oh crap I thought I wasn’t supposed to say that was I? “But your not suppose to know that yet. Shh.” I said holding a finger to my mouth. Than giving Justin an apologetic look for outing him.
Grace just sat there with her mouth open, much like I did when I found out, only for a different reason. She was starring at me not Justin. After a while, I realized I was sitting on him and, got up, walked over to Grace and slapped her across the face. Hard.
“Hey!” she yelled, slapping me back
“Sorry, you weren’t moving, I thought you were in shock or something.” I said shrugging, pretending to be sorry. I didn’t want her giving me away to Justin. She was just sitting there starring at me, I had to do something.
“Well I was just surprised that’s all.” She said, realizing the real reason behind the slapping.
“As was I…” I said
There was a creek of the wood near the door. I looked over to see Justin trying to sneak back down the tree without being seen.
“Hey! Come back here! I’m not done making you pretty!” I yelled running over and pulling him back into the tree house. “Grace, would you like to help?” I asked handing her bright blue eyeliner.
“Why yes, that would be delightful” she said taking the eyeliner with an evil grin that matched mine, as we walked slowly toward out victim who screamed hid under the bean bag. What a baby. I thought as we dragged him out and handcuffed him to a chair.
~Ok thats all for now but when and if she adds more ill put it up, congrats to her though she wrote a good starter to a story~
