a promise
one i mean to keep.
it'll keep me on my feet,
but now i can't look back.
a promise
that keeps me out of the past,
and looking forward to my future.
i will. i will.
i promise you this,
that i'll keep this one.
the one to you,
and the one to me.
life is easier,
when you look ahead.
but there are things,
that stay in your head.
one thing that stays with me,
is this promise.
it haunts me,
but makes me smile, all the while.
when you love someone,
but you can't be with them,
make a promise,
to be there in the end.
that's what i did,
and it makes me look ahead.
i combine it with my own promise,
one that gives me one heck of a future.

hoping, wishing, for the end.
