These are a couple of poems I came up with...they aren't perfect, but hey. I try.

Emotions
Sorrow
Omen of the heart
Rivets your being
Rings around your neck
Opening your eyes
Wallowing in your own self pity

Anger
Numbing frustration
Grasping onto your lungs
Exploding open your adrenaline
Racing, pounding, wants to cause pain

Jealousy
Eyeing your possessions
And wanting more still
Loathing the keeper of your desire
Owning your past wishes
Until you can hardly stand it
Sticking to your dreams
Yearning for it, scheming

Happiness
An illusion everyone craves
Perhaps for a moment
Perhaps for a lifetime
In an instant, though, it quickly shreds
Never to return
Eventually, it may come back, but never to
Stay, always
Slipping away

These emotions
These feelings
That humans all feel
They take hold of you
Won’t let go of you
Are they even real?
Wishes, desires,
Wants and dreams
Chaining you up
Keeping you
Until you think you’ll go insane
Relationships,
Love lives
Things that never remain
We shouldn’t give in
Shouldn’t fall before
These things our mind tells us we “feel”
Happiness, Sorrow,
Jealousy and Anger!
Emotions we all know are all to real.

Why?

Why did you leave me
When I asked for your hand
Why did you turn away
And let me sink into life's quicksand

So many things, I just don't understand
Like, why did I believe you
Now I can hardly stand

My legs are shaking beneath me
Lips quivering blue
Without you, life escapes me
Why did you do what I didn't think you'd do...

I wish you would tell me
Why you did all of these things
Then, and only then
Will I know these feelings

Why did you go in my time of need...
I'll never understand
Why you left me

Alone

It’s cold
Freezing
No warmth left to come
It’s gone now
Forever
No place to call home

Was there ever a home?

No more love
Heartless
Only feelings of sorrow
Hatred building
Frustration flowing
No care to share nor borrow

Did you ever even care?

Everything is gone
Disappeared
No trace left behind
No way to follow
Empty
Nothing left to find

I’ll never find it…

My heart is withered
Crumbled up
No one to care
No one to love
No one to fear
Then I realize…

I’m alone
