Transcendental Treasures
Sarah is exploring far
within and without
and collecting all the treasures
on her transcendental route.
Sarah climbs to mountains high
to find upon a crag
a seated meditating monk
clutching a paper bag.
Sarah stands before him plagued
with curiosity,
and says as sojourners are wont,
"Surely that's for me."
The monk just sat and smiled,
as monks are known to do,
and said to Sarah softly,
"Yes, this bag's for you.
All your hearts desires
have driven you astray,
but everything you'll ever need
is found in this cache."
Sarah reached and took it
without formality,
and opening it slowly
found it was empty.
