Chaos Control
Ch.1 Breathe

[Opens to a scene of a young woman standing at the edge of a lake, her arms lay weakly at her side. Her appearance is rough, her clothes ruined, her face scarred and bruised. She peers into the water, seeing past the reflection of herself. A young man slowly approaches from behind, a long rifle in his hands, he shakes in fear.]
Man
D-don’t move or I’ll fire…I mean it! I-I’ll shoot…

(She gives no reply.)

Man
Turn around, nice and slow…do it, now!

(Again, there is no reply. He fires two warning shots on both sides of her; she continues to stare at the water.)
Man
T-turn…or I’ll fire you down soldier…turn!

(In thought) Woman
It was over…we had lost…and I, one of the head generals of this rebellion knew it…our leading general Hayato had fallen. I, General Mirabo was about to be killed by a simple soldier…and I had accepted my defeat…

[He fires, the bullet from the rifle shoots into her back and penetrates through the other side. She falls to her knees and stares at the sky.]

Mirabo (OC)
I had never seen a sky that beautiful before…

[Blackout.]
Mirabo (OC)
I thought that my life was over…until I woke up and took a deep breath…how I wondered? How was I alive? This was a question that was soon to be answered by a knock at my door.

[Mirabo slowly lifts herself from a large comfortable bed and slowly strides to the door. The knocking continues until she opens the door. A man about the same height as her stands before Mirabo. A smooth smile is set on his face, his hair is black, he looks no older than 18.]

Young Man
You’re Merill Mirabo, correct?

Mirabo
Yes…that’s me, why?

Young Man
My name is Clyde Snith from the CCU sector in the Geraison Military forces; may I have a moment of your time?

Mirabo
CCU…of course, come in…Clyde you said?

[He slowly enters the entry room and looks around, then turns to her as she closes her front door.]
Clyde
Yes. My name is Clyde…now Merill-

Mirabo
Please call me Mirabo.

Clyde
Of course (sighs), I have come here to offer you a proposition.

Mirabo
A proposition…dealing with what?

Clyde
Your service in the rebellion army, General Mirabo. I don’t know if you recall this or not…but you died.

Mirabo
What? I…I died…that isn’t possible; I mean I’m standing right here.

(Smiling) Clyde
Have you ever heard of a Chaos Gene Merill? We in the CCU have developed a gene that can revive certain individuals if they already have something called a Chaotic Strand of DNA in their body…this strand allows for more potential than normal humans. You see…we found your body after the war and tested you. You hold three Chaotic Strands in your DNA…so we were able to revive you, however there were consequences.

Mirabo
I…don’t understand this…what consequences?

Clyde
Once a Chaos Gene has been injected into a person’s blood stream it chooses a particular part of the body to harvest in…for you it was your left arm.

Mirabo
Is my arm going to stop working or something?

Clyde
Heh…no on the contrary it will be much stronger. The Chaos Gene has harvested all its energy into your left arm…meaning that with practice you could learn to control Chaos Energy.

Mirabo
Chaos Energy, what is that?

[He slides his hand through his hair and smirks.]

Clyde
It’s different for everybody…and the easiest way to explain it is to show you.

[Clyde holds his right arm out and begins to focus his energy.]

Clyde
Chaos Control!

[His arm began to shake as a mass of energy began to swirl around his arm. The glove on his right hand began to disintegrate. When it was completely gone his hand had become a dark skeletal claw.]

Clyde
With this claw I can slice through nearly anything, I also have many other abilities. Do you mind if I practice on that Vase?

[Mirabo was in such shock that she said yes softly. Clyde made his arm extend in length then held it up in the air and slashed down on a large Vase. Within seconds the Vase fell in half and shattered on the floor/ He returned his arm to normal size and stuck his hand into his pocket.]

Mirabo
If this is true…what can I do with my Chaos Energy?

Clyde
That’s why I’m here…we at CCU wish to figure that out…no one with more than two Chaotic Strands of DNA has been like you. They usually go insane…the gene destroys them from the inside out. So…that is my proposition, come with me back to CCU…let us figure out your ability and then you can join our organization and help us against them.

Mirabo
Them, who are they Clyde?

Clyde
Those who lost control…and became terrible creatures…that is the reason the Chaos Gene brings consequences…they will hunt you now due to the gene in your body. So will you agree to this proposition Merill?

Mirabo
Call me Mirabo Clyde and I guess that’s a yes on your proposition.
[Blackout.]
