I won't lie. I jumped out of my chair when I saw the annoucement. I mean, you probably did too, but I doubt anyone would be more excited than the people out there collecting Angelic and Nitmare items. Seriously, these items are up their ally, some of whom I'm betting are buying them as I type this.

The one thing I found odd about the actual equipping process is this. You have to unequip your item before you can pick a new position with it or else the avatar won't change properly to match the new pose. This is rather annoying, but if you can endure it, the glitch is a minor thing. Hopefully VO and the gang will get it right the more the new avatar system is broken into. I mean, it's only a day old.

Also, apparently, you are able to hold each staff in a different hand depending on the pose you pick. You are even able to alternate which hand holds what. For example, in the foreground hand, I am holding the pitchfork while in the background hand I am holding the staff. I like the idea of having two items, one in each hand. I hope to see more of this in the future.

The Staff of Angels reminds me of a Sailor Moon (mostly Sailor Pluto's weapon) or Card Captor Sakura weapon. It's a nice shade a blue, which matches pretty much any and all Angelic items. Fans of Sakura are propably mixing and matching outfits to create one of the many Card Captor outfits she wears in the series. Any Sailor Moon cosplayer on Gaia needs to do is invest in the school uniform and a headband of some kind, preferably one that matches. I can see this staff being used as an elf, pixie, sprite, or fairy item as well, but it would take a lot of effort to pull it off just right. I know I'm failing at trying to make it work with my limited inventory.

The Demonic Pitchfork is a great way to complete the demonic items (Devil Tail, Demon Horns, Wrath Cloak, etc.). I don't see myself getting much use out of it, but then again, I don't have a Devil Tail. At least I have something now that matches my Demon Horns. That's where it pretty much falls short. In my opinion, this item isn't really all that well rounded compared to the Staff of Angels. You're pretty much limited to all the dark and "evil" items available. Some may argue that is so with the Staff of Angels being limited to the "good" items, which I can see why. However, even using my imagination, I cannot see this pitchfork being used for something other than a cursed farm tool that came into the possession (no pun intended) of an innocent Gaian farmer. Unless you wear a lot of black or "evil" items, I will be very impressed if you can make this item work outside of the whole "I live in hell" angle.

In short, these items are a good investment. If you wear a lot of black and nothing but it or like dark and evil things, go for the Demonic Pitchfork. If you like cute stuff with wings or wear a lot of bright colors, go for the Staff of Angels. As the first holdable item, they will no doubt become the next Angelic Halo of Gaia as we users approach Beta version. I hope you have yours!

The Staff of Angels and the Demonic Pitchfork are just the precursors to what we have in store for you in the future. domokun

I wonder what he means by that. wink
