And You Call Yourself A Poet?
Poetry is truth
As much as it is lies.
It is everything and nothing,
at precisely the same time.
But THAT,
That thing you wrote?
That wishy washy anecdote?
THAT is not a poem.
THAT will never be,
This magical and cosmic stuff
Which folks call poetry!
You think yourself so clever,
With pretty words like June,
Which you so blunt… creatively
Rhymed with words like moon.
Now I do not mean to mock you,
Nor to place you in a hearse.
But all I'm really saying is...
Oh crap… the second verse!
