	Conan, Item Design Contest, Work It's funny: working on stuff for Gaia can influence the stuff we do outside of work. While a few of the artists critiqued the rendering of the Thor pelt pose on Gift of the Gods MC, L0cke mentioned that the fur reminded him of Conan. Somehow, that led to me mentioning that I had never seen the Conan movies (the early 1980s ones with Mr. Governator), so L0cke and I ended up buying the two-movie DVD pack and we watched Conan the Barbarian last night. Quite the manly movie! Before we went home for Conan, though, a few of us crowded around Cashmere Cactus' laptop and peeked at some of the Item Design Contest submissions thus far. We saw a lot of cool ideas already! Keep 'em coming. Gaia work-wise, I've been slowly redesigning some of the other pages around the site to match our new tan background. I'm not sure when you guys will see the changes, but we are working on them. There's also some really neat things in the works that the UI and Flash teams are working on that I'm probably not allowed to mention right now, but just you wait. ninja

	I mean, the new background color. sweatdrop I've heard it described as tan, cream, gray... it's the hex value #E4DED8. Most of the page backgrounds are still white, but they will all eventually be #e4ded8.

	Love the Gift of the Gods, but the Superior Form has a glitch that makes it so it can't be sold crying Edit- yay! glitch has been fixed! and... new tan background? looking forward to something other than white/blue

	Ling, I know this is not your area of expertise, but have you guys ever considered releasing an item containing the "normal" human eyes, or other eyes that would cover the eye sockets that zombies could use? Something like the Oculus Magica that would cover the entire eye, but have normal eyes as opposed to the cool, fancy eyes of the Oculus Magica. This would be a nice item for zombies to have so that they could continue to enjoy items like the new MC. It looks really wierd on us, because it just has the empty sockets. EDIT: I'm sorry, I didn't see the note about keeping comments related to the journal entry until after I posted this, and now I can't delete it. My bad. sad

	I have never watched Conan myself. Hm. Perhaps I should. Take a screen shot of the laptop and send it to me. I won't tell anybody >.>;; Gah! C'mon! What's the new stuff? 	I've never seen Conan either. Only bits and pieces. ._.; puts it on his to-do list Make Conan-esque items? Perhaps for Halloween? surprised Oooo, neat-o shiny things. Can't wait to see what they are. ponders the possibilities

	What is it with the development team going "I know something that you don't know.. AND IT'S SO COOL!!!" DX Tease us, why don't you? ilu all anyways. XDD Lawl I thought I had a really good design for the item contest.. until the MCs came out. It was actually weird in a way. While I'm not one for "manly" movies, I think I'm going to have to rent the Conan movie and have friends over.

	I've never seen Conan either, not that I want to. lol I actually very rarely watch anything other than anime nowadays~ I totally want to enter the item design contest, but all my ideas are for sets rather than stand-alone items! sweatdrop I can see why you guys implemented that rule though, even if it makes it really difficult for me to come up with a concept. I'm sure I'll come up with something eventually though~ P.S. Did you enjoy my delicious cookies? xd

	Conan is pretty cool. There are a couple of other movies you might like if you liked it. Red Sonya has him in it, and Beast Master doesn't, but it's a good movie anyways. 3nodding

	There's nothing wrong with white, but we think the new background color acts as a better canvas for the art we make for Gaia and the beautiful avatars you guys put together. smile White tends to dominate and compete with the foreground, while the new background color recedes to make foreground content pop more.

	I've never watched Conan either... I was going to design an item, but I didn't. Why? Because... I design a new outfit for every character I draw, each time I draw it. So I thought "well, since I'm not inspired, I'll take one of my old designs..." And I found out that I'd given most pictures out! lol

	I punched that hex code into Photoshop to see what the color looked like. There is barely a difference between this new color and white. When I got to thinking about it though, that's probably a good thing. It's a nice neutral color that will go mostly unnoticed. That's the point, isn't it? White is just too bright, and I think you're right about all the graphics popping more against this nice new color. I'm looking forward to its implementation.

	Cool beans I've never actually SEEN either of those movies but they sound alright D: I KNOW man this is gonna be a close one too bad only one can win it seems almost impossible to pick unless you pick >3> pancakes ohohoho /shameless begging. Anyway Cant wait to see who the finalists are, its gonna be a cool item I know that much O3O Ohhh new secret stuff!! Cant wait to see it
