Chapter Nine~ No Where Man |

I was quite surprised to wake up in my bed this morning. I knew soemthing was wron as soon as I felt the pillow beneath me. I bolted up and quickly glanced around the room.
It looked like I was alone. I brought my thumb to my lips to think, could it had possibly been all a dream. I sighed and flopped back, groaning inwardly.
But then i heard a faint clanking of pots and the hiss of a very angry mystery man.
I slid out my bedroom, peeking around the corner to see Anako probably cursing at the stove in his strange language.
"Screw this." He growles and skeweres the lettus and carrots on metal stick. He takes a bottle of my cooking wine and downs a mouthful, swishing it around his mouth.
He inhales deeply and holds out his hand. It suddenly ignites and he unleases the pent up air. A huge stream of fire pour out over the lettus and carrots, nearly reducing them to ash.
As the stream starts to fade I notice that he's maintaining it simply with his breath instead of the match or whatever he used to kindle the blaze.
Once the fire dies completely I applaude and laugh as he scrutched his nose and aved away the dese smoke.
He turned to me and gestured towards the burnt vegitables.
"I was supose to cook them?" He asks, as he pokes a piece of lettus and it disintigrated.
That only makes me laugh harder.
"Most people eat lettus and carrots raw or boiled!" I laugh, taking out a big pot.
"I believe this might be edible." He says as he repeatedly poks at the carrot.
He slides it from the skewer and dropped it onto the cutting board. With astonishing precision and speed he dices the carrot into nearly perfect cubes.
He took up a handful chewing it slowly as if deciding if he really did like it.
"It could... use some improvment." He admidted shudderign as he swallowed.
I just laughed and brought out a box of cereal and a couple of bowles.
"Here, have soem cereal instead." I say, placing the bowl and the box on the table.
He goes over and pickes up the box as I go for the milk.
Before I know it hear him shaking it fervently. I turn back when the sound stoppes to find him gnawling on the box.
I fell back laughing, sinking to the floor. I slowly staggered to my feet, to see him closely observing me. My sides hurt but I just couldn't stop laughing.
I took the box from him and opened the top and poured it into my bowl.
"I see, we eat only the inards." He said softly, staring into the box.
"And here I was begining to think you'd recovered from your amnesia." I chuckled, pouring milk on my cereal and digging in.
He looked back at the box, his hand coming to his chin as he obviously thouht about something.
"I don't recomend trying to cook that." I giggle and motioned for him to pour himself some and eat.
He obliged and tipped out a few bits and took up enough milk to coat them. And with that fished them out and nodded in aproval.
"...Is that all you're eating?" I ask, tilting my head at him.
He looked as though he wanted to say yes.
"... I just wanted to taste test it." He lied, carefully tipping the box again to bring out a handful of cereal.
This time it was two bites.
I shrugged and took up my bowl, draining of it milk. I turned to look at him to see looking pretty ill.
"Are you alright?" I asked, leaning over to get a better look.
"I need to use your facilities." He said, waiting for me to point the way.
"Right, go ahead, right aross my bedroom." I direct and with that he's gone.
I took care of his bowl and everything, quickly sweeping his charred vegitables into the garbage. But not before tasting the rejected product. It really wasn't bad, but could use some salt.
As I walked by I heard the toilet flush and the faucet turn on. I smiled to myself and tugged my door shut, and began undressing.
I dropped off my clothes in the hamper on the opposite side of the room. As I headed for my closet I noticed Anako standing in my door, gesturing back tot he kitchen.
"Do you need me to clean anything for you?" He asked simply, appearently oblivious to the fact I was naked.
I, however, could never eb that calm.
"Get out!" I shout, throwing whatever was in arms reach.
He simply held up his arms and blocked everything.
"How far out?" He asked as I ran out of things to throw.
"Get out of my room!" I shouted and dived behind the bed.
I heard the door slide shut and his footfalls head for the kitchen/ living room.
I sighed exaspiratingly and quickly robed myself in case he felt like venturing back into my room.
As I came out into the kitchen Anako seemed to be having a second go at flaming vegitables. However as soon as he noticed me he whipped round, his hands shooting behind his back.
"Are you ready to go to your work?" He asked.
"Yes, but you can't come." I said simply trying to look around him.
However he bent and leaned with me, not letting me see what was behind his back.
"I am aware of that. I will be going to the museum." He stated and gestured with one hand for me to lead.
I sighed and decided to drop it, I had to be at work soon.
