As I said would, here is a picture of L0cke wearing the completed Spirited Scarf. I hope he does not get too hot during the conventions while wearing it AND a straitjacket. sweatdrop

Time permitting, I may have a Nico Robin from One Piece cosplay ready for Fanime (which is this upcoming weekend). If not, then I'll definitely have it ready for AX. smile

It looks awsome ^o^. I'm sure you must have worked hard on it.

Edit: He looks unconfortable without his jacket on xd ...or he might just be like me in the sense that he has an unescapable fear of cameras. O.o

Aww, that's an awesome job.

;_;
I have no craft talent, 'tis as if you've done a miracle.
O__O A very long, fuzzy, cute miracle.

&3
I am in love. You have coerced me to leave the Q&A and run to the nearest craft shop, and purchase some yarn and needles.

Does he now? I suppose everyone has their own pose for cameras whee . I'm more of the "kicking and screaming" types during pictures.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing the whole outfit in person if I get the chance ^_^. ((Not sure if I'm going yet))

ISH SOOO CUUUTE~ 4laugh XDDD j/k

Very good job! I think the straight jacket is going to present a challenge though. X3

I haven't really thought up what I'm going to wear to the con... >___> There is NO WAY I am going as my character. XD;; >_____>;;

Are those the pants he's going to be wearing to the con as well?

comment Commented on: Mon May 23, 2005 @ 05:50am
Malee, you can learn how to knit off the internet. I learned a lot from internet guides; honest. smile

MayLay, if memory serves correct, the yarn is Wool-Ease Thick & Quick knit on 9 mm needles. Basically it was a garter stitch with modifications on the end to keep from curling (garter stitches have a nasty tendency of curling...)

Cast on 18 stitches, knit entire row. On next row, knit 3, purl the rest, and knit last 3. Repeat the two rows until 10th row. Knit the 11th row, and purl the 12th row (no knits this time). Then alternate the color and repeat all the steps for the rest of the scarf. I made his a little over 7 feet long at his insistence so that it could blow in the wind like a superhero's... and because he's tall. sweatdrop

SykoSilver, yes, he will wear those pants.

That has got to be the biggest scarf I've ever seen. eek I really hope L0cke doesn't get hot under it. If he does, I hope your booth is under an AC vent that's on full blast.

Malee,

There are a lot of good sites such as:
http://www.learntoknit.com
http://www.vogueknitting.com/tech/knit/knit.html

But one I find particularly helpful because they have videos is:
http://www.stitchguide.com/stitches/knitting/index.html

Happy knitting smile

Awsome scarf! it's gonna get really hot though ^^;

And hope you get the cosplay done, but most costumes are best done rushed.

OOh, that's a nice scarf. I only made a blanket out of knitting but it turned out a bit weird. What I like most is the colors you choosed. I want to go to another convention (hey I think I can asked to go that for my birthday since my family wanted to know where I wanted to go or do, sorry i'm chatting too much sweatdrop ). Oh by the way do you know anything about crocheting? I think it's like knitting, anyways, I have this pattern from a gothic and lolita bible that has a crocheted headdress I want to make but I don't know anything about it so if you can can you PM me to help me? Thanks

XD Keep in the shade and inside. The straight jacket and scarf and pants will kill him in the heat. Arizona was just 110 degrees and that was brutal. x_x Hope it's not that hot over there.

Does this mean no art from Locke with his arms all bound up? xp

I always suffer from "Scarf Envy". When people have pretty scarves, I want to take them and run. So, it's a good thing I will not be at that convention @_@

Amazing scarf! It looks so cozy. heart

Just one tiny correction to your pattern though...garter stitch is actually what your border is, where you knit all rows. The rest of it is stockinette stitch. 3nodding
