What happens at Envirothon stays at Envirothon... Well,... Kinda razz
As you people know, Liz went to the Envirothon a few days ago.. =) And had a spiffy groovy time.. surprised Read on for details I'm not supossed to share.. heheheheheheh ^_^
In the morning, I was frantically packing trying not to be late.. and of course, I was the first one there. razz Silly me. I was riding with Mrs. Reilly, Polly, and Melissa while Ash and Erin were with Mr. B. We headed down the road and about 2 hourse later stopped off for some lunch. Melissa and I split a sub samich and I got a strawberry milkshake.. *__* ...Then when we got back in the car.. the road became really hilly. ~___~ I was getting carsick.. then.. someone got sick surprised And we stopped by a gasstation to clean up... Erin and Ashley made bets on who was the one to ...ya know.. :O I am under Ecology Club secrecy not to say who it was!!! So no asking! HAH! razz
Well, we got there on time, I did our oral presentation. ^.^ I think we did pretty good. -nods- Yup!
After that, we had a bunch of time to spare, so, Melissa and I decided to investigate the Holliday-Lake Park in Appomattox (which is where we were staying). There was a dock.. surprised And we saw these guys fishing.. Of course Liz decided to say Hi to the fellows. razz They were reaaallllllllllllyyyyyyy nice and let my try out some fishing! And on my first try I caught one!! =D
As the day went on, it started raining.. but we stayed out there fishing.. ^__^ Weee! Melissa and i went inside to tell Erin and Ash about the guys.. and we kinda made up a story.. about.. eh, stuff.. razz So, they came out to see what was going on... and weeeee, I continued fishing and before the day was over I caught a total of 3 fishies!!!! I got pics for proof!! smile Shout outz to my redneck fishing boyz at Lee County- Steven, Derrick, Travis, and Jimmy. lolz!
At 6ish, there was a cookout... and I ate a burger. :0 What shocked me was, the leader people, actually said a PRAYER! Oh my words... O_O;;; I was in shock! surprised surprised
Later, we investigated the grounds a lil more, and tryed to stalk our fishing guys. At night, Melissa, Ashley, and I stayed up late playing cards, and listening to pop music! LOL! Good times.. surprised We also took a shower.. NOT TOGETHER.. of course.. but anyways, lol, While I was showering, I heard this loud noise and I thought it was a fire alarm.. and I was like omg!! what do i do. So, i turned off my water, and screamed, "Ashley, whats going on" and she was like, "I think my shower is broken" -giggles- ^__^
When it was time to sleep, we had thismean lady in our bunk and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post her nickname.. lol.. anyways, I couldnt go to sleep, so I climbed up to melissa's bunk and we studied soil together for awhile.. then we got bored.. and snuck over to erin's and ash's bunk bed.. ;O And we played truth or dare LOL!! That was so much fun.. but I think we were keeping up the other people in the bunk.. Oh well.. all I have to say is.. "3 hours" (inside joke) razz Eventually, we all went to sleep.. well, at least i tried.. but everyone seemed to be snoring!! UGH! razz
In the morning, I was awakened by Erin's alarm clock.. but she didn't seem to hear it.. sooooo, I waited like 10 mins, for walking over there and telling her to turn it off! GRRR!!! Anyways, melissa and I were the only ones to actually get up and ready on time.. so we got a good breakfast!! hehehe!! razz
So after that, The actual Environthon started!! surprised Our first station was I think wildlife.. and we all worked together to answer that.. looking at pics and skulls, and tracks, and stuff like thta. I think we did really well!! Next was soil!!! Weeeee! Only the BEST topic ever!!!!! I think we did well on that too! I was able to go into a soil pit and measure the topsoil and all that good stuff. I had trouble reading the soil survey though.. sad Poo! After that, we went to forestry.. oh my words! That was the hardest test ever! Our team had no idea what to do.. lol.. Brad, we need you next year!! razz
And after lunch, we took the Cultural landscape test.. smile I think we did good on that too, but they had random cave questions.. O__o;;
Then we drove home. We should be getting who won what sooner or later.. But we were competing against 20 teams.. Like i said, pics will be coming soon! (even though I only had time for a few)
