It has often been stated that knowledge is power. (I most recently saw the statement on a sticker at the mall, which I intend to buy and slap onto my laptop. )
Another common statement is that power corrupts.
So, if
K=Knowledge
P=Power
C=Corruption
K=P
P=C
K must equal C.
It's purely logical.
