Author's note: I've decided to try and write a nice little MirSan story. I'm not sure how it's going to turn out in the end, but I'm really good at writing so I think it'll turn out pretty good! I was listening to the ending themes while writing this, so don't blame me if I really get into it! ^.^





Chapter 1: Miroku's story...

This isn't going to end well...




Sango hadn't talked much all day, and Kagome was becoming worried. I didn't know what to say, or do for that matter, but whenever I tried to talk to her, she turned away in disgust. Now why would she do that? Kagome didn't look to happy either herself, and Inuyasha didn't even look at me when I talked to him. Shippou was confused, as always, and Kilala just sat in Sango's arms the whole walk without even mewing my way. I had been turned down by everyone on my squad, or so I called it, but no one talked to me, looked at me, or even touched me for that matter.

I must have been deep into my thoughts, because I walked straight into the tree in front of me. I sware it came out of nowhere! It was over there and then it was in front of me...scary...I fell to the ground with a thud and shook my head trying to clear the pain from my mind...that seemed to get everyones attention! Sango just looked away in disgust thinking I was some sort of idiot, or so I supposed, and Inuyasha just kept walking like nothing happened. Tipical Inuyasha. Kagome looked back and walked towards me, helping me up.

"Jeez Miroku, pay attention. There's no telling what'll happen out here." I nodded and she ran to catch up with the rest of the group, leaving me there to stand and feel stupid. I looked down at the ground to hide the grimace on my face and walked slowly towards the group.


Time passed for what seemed like an iternity, and I lost sight of the group when I finally looked up. I swore I had seen the spot I was in before, or at least a couple of times before. I had no clue what to do but look around me in worry. And after a while, it was official...I was lost...'Just great...this is exactly what I needed...getting separated from the one I love...' I sat down underneath a tree and sat against the tree trunk, staring up at the leaves in the tree. A baby bird was hopping around the tree branch, staring right back at me.

Above me were multiple fireflies, waiting for one another to blink. I felt a slim smile creep across my face as I saw several of them find each other and fly off in pairs.
