It is naught but a tear in my eye
a tiny jewel of emotion, a mere thought
yet a need more fierce and hopeless than my feeble mind can comprehend
Oh, what cruel fate is this?
So far away, yet so close
Though I wonder
were I to blow you a kiss, would my love carry its warmth to your soft lips?
Would you know that the small wisp of a breeze so kindly carressing your cheek was from me?
Would you feel my loving embrace in the sudden burst of wind wrapping itself about your lone figure?
If that tear rolled slowly down my frozen cheek, would you feel me in the pouring rain soaking your sweet hair?
I can feel you above me, your sorrow soaking the six feet of silencing earth between us that so cruelly prevents me from brushing away those lonely tears with a gentle finger.
So close, my love, yet so far.
