I'm on a number of different forum and community sites as a normal member, and it's interesting seeing how different websites handle community issues and moderation. For example, on a new knitting community site I'm on, the site creators are considering implementing a sort of karma system to help deter people away from posting problematic material. I would guess they would use their existing optional tagging system for each post, where you can tag a post as educational, interesting, funny, or controversial, as the basis for the karma system. In this case, a member with too many posts tagged as controversial might have their status under their username changed to "Troublemaker" temporarily. Unfortunately, I do not think such a system would work with the same success here on Gaia, and it doesn't take much thought to figure out why... xd Still, it is interesting nonetheless!
And on a completely unrelated note, as I wrote in a previous entry, here's my crackpot theory on the storyline:
A la Sailormoon, Rufus is actually a mystical talking cat who gives Ian pills (remember those pills from the Gino arc?), which transform Ian into Louie, defender of justice!!
(Feel free to laugh at me, liberally, if you must! I like Sailormoon a little too much.)
