Dog Affair
Today I went to a animal adoption drive. It was sadly small with 80% of it about selling food, merchandise and products. Very few animals. But a lot of dog owners brought their beautiful and cute dogs to the drive at the park. All we could do is admire. Sigh. MY hubby still likes snhauzers the best. I still prefer the fluffier kinds like the shitzhus, maltese or yorkshire terriers.

Ooh and I brought my Nicky to my place for a trail test run this week. Hubby wants to test how well can I handle a pet. Sigh. Nicky smells a little ... guess I've to buy a dog perfume or air freshener tomorrow.

Here's a picture of him here ... lookie.
That's my younger brother holding him.

But hun...selling animals in stores are not good. gonk

Sweden only sells birds, hamsters and rabbits in stores, but a lot of store doesn't sell any animal at all. It's better to buy from breeders heart

Theres nothing wrong with buying from Petsmart/Petco's adoption days, though. Most of the time its people bringing in foster pets theyve been taking care of in hopes that they get adopted. Going to hole-in-the-wall petshops with way too many puppies could be risky, but generally, its not too hard to tell if a puppy/kitty mill is involved, sadly.

Even better if you want a specific breed, do a google search for a rescue group in your area. "schnauzer rescue" for example. :} There are a lot of breed specific groups that rescue dogs from shelters and hard times and keep them in foster care until an owner is found.

There's also shelters and the SPCA (I dont know how the SPCA works or what its called outside of the US though)

Breeders arent the only option. smile
