Kubo finally admitted that the book, in the end, and the auther himself both admit that the question was corrupt. And therefor invalid. It isn't my fault that ya'll can't take that to it's logical conclusion- the answer is wrong.
That is why it took deep thought so long to get the answer. He had to account for time travel.
