to my faded voice
patiently awaiting
in this tree

This tree fades to brown
the color of its end
but I still await
with your reply

the ringing
I hear from the wind
reminds me of your gentle voice
I await silently

You come to me with this anger
the roots of the tree hurting
I seek your forgiveness
but gave me hate

let me be,
let me love
do not leave me
do not burn me

Forget my heart,
forget my kindness
but do not forget
who I am

I leave you for now
under this dying tree
