Purple raindrops sparkle on my skin,
unbidden tears sting my eyes,
lightning drops against calloused skies,
as my heart aches for you.
Unfulfilled desire beats against my breast,
a brilliant bird, locked within it's cage;
red-tipped orange wings burst from beneath my skin,
screams explode from my lips;
but silence,
lays
thick,
and
heavy,
and
still.
The distance laughs at me, enticing my regret.
The sunny skies of home and landscaped oceans,
are painted on my vision.
I close my eyes and for just the briefest of moments,
i can feel you in my arms.
